Yesterday I created my first public list on inleo.io, I will use it to collect articles I see over the next year, the goal is to collect information posted on the Hive blockchain that I want to return to later, I am looking for evergreen content that have utility and are not time sensitive.
I can see a useful case using list later, on. You have the ability to create collection of posts from yourself or other users that could benefit your audience.
It could be great to have a list for recipe, goals, tutorial, movie, past threadcasts. I can see this also from a business stand point where you could monetize your private list to other paying customers.
Paying for lists?
Organized information has a price, searching inside the blockchain for information can take a lot of time and the ability to pin posts you come across directly from the UI can help you create those collections more easily rather copy pasting into an Excel spreadsheet.
I believe with list you can also share content from other without copyright issue, since all content on Hive is public, the only think you are doing is basically creating more views and potential engagement to the original authors of the posts inside your list.
If you have platform (front-end) that are down the road paying for Evergreen content after the initial 7 days payout window then this could be a monetary win-win situation for all parties involved.
I believe inleo.io was looking at implementing a paying mechanism for evergreen content with over 200 views if I am not mistaken, I don't know if this is still the case. I believe the money was gonna come from ads but since it is off the table for know, I don't if this feature will come and in what form.
How to create you one:
It is very easy from the inleo.io interface
- from the left menu click on more
- then click on Lists
- click on the + sign on the top right
- Put in the information about your list
- click on the "Create List" button (for me it is green but that will depend on your settings)
Lists inside the blockchain for sync across front-ends
Later on maybe lists could be a custom JSON on the blockchain or a post with all the links inside that you retrieve from the block number. This could be good to have something like that where you could have your list saved on the blockchain and not depend on one single frontend. Like bookmarking across all the sites.
You can follow my list walterjay's public list
I am not sure when the first article will pop in here or even if their will be any
You can recognize my list because of the image I have been using for some of my posts, also since it does start with a W and it appear to be in alphabetical order, I am the last list.
Maybe we will see the rise of list starting with A or numbers like what happened with in phone books during the last century. Did you think apple's name was an accident? :)
PS: Since I wrote the article just after creating my first list, I will try again the scheduled feature and see when and if my article gets published. Hopefully on the 2nd of August at 9:30 AM on whatever timezone it will be in. I have no clue but probably GMT time or server time.
PSS: still didn't work had to repost manually. I check the status on the schedule post page and it says published.
