For this month of September, after speaking about building stuff on Hive and never committed to it, I decided to start building smalls tools not yet completed but making them available in order to get feedback and building upon the ones that people want to see.
Influence of Pieter Levels, delivering fast method
In software development, we can teams/startup working for months or years on a product without testing it on the market, being scared of the product not to be ready or perfect and spending countless hours twinkling details before the final release date.
As you might have read in my previous article about his mindset, I have found an inspiration in the guy and his method of trying things out, building an small audience for your community and deploying, getting feedback, building a team after having the initial concept out or just doing it solo.
You can find my article here at :
Quote from my previous article:
Hivekpi.com
Temporary logo I created with GPT:
I just went right in, getting a V0.1 of my MVP out in production, I was even going to deploy it without CSS but ended up doing a minimum amount to get some colors in.
The name came because I wanted to create at first a dashboard to track some KPI on Hive, more for myself, I wanted a tailored made site where I choose what I see and how I track my investment other then just price. I thought about having a conter with goals everyday tracking threads creation and reply, how many upvotes I gave each day, making sure I am using my voting power effectively which I am not at the moment but this is how the name came around.
(tech talk, you can skip) - Angular 18 front end development
I have been a fan of angular apps for a few years now and I just discovered last week that the latest version got realesed by Google in May of 2024 so this was a great opportunity for me to try in out, since it was a project from scratch I could choose the latest version of the Angular to build upon.
I haven't yet got all the changes and practice that are different, the one thing I noticed is standalone components and router seems to work a bit different now.
Overall Angular is a fast framework for typescript where you can build fast robust apps, might be overkill for a small project but as Pieter suggested, start with what you know instead of trying to learn a new language just because it is tailored made for a certain purpose.
There are a lot of front end language nowadays and people are fighting over which is best, the best is one is the one you master and you can do all the basic stuff with any of those so the decidtion isn't that important at the moment, at least for me.
(end of tech talk) - Feel free t talk shit about the problem and suggest edition
I want to create a kind of positive feedback loop from having user criticizing the app until I can finalize a product and taking into account what people in the community want. So reply to my posts, threads #hivekpi you can tell me about what side tools app you would want on the Hive blockchain.
I am looking for idea that I could implement as a website/app that would solve small problems and make like easier on hive and more productive for its users.
What the app does, you can use it now HIVEKPI.com
At the moment https://hivekpi.com/ is about doing projection of hive power revenue in the future and seing the power of compounding interests over years. It is hard to project in your head, you could create an Excel sheet with that but I think having it on a website with easy access on mobile and tablet could help you play with the number and create an long term investment plan for HIVE.
In the screenshot below you will see that with 15 000 HP at the current 3.32% interest rate on staked hive and an 8% curation reward on top per year you would have around 131 000 HP in 20 years without adding anymore to the capital, no buying or author reward.
If you change and add a 100 Hive per month in monthly contributions you would have around 222 500 Hive Power with around 200k in just interests alone. Even without factoring the future price of Hive it is amazing to be able to turn 15K into 200k with consistent efforts and making those interests rates per year.
I hope this can help anyone creating a long term vision for this project in particular or any project for that matter.
Of course there is still a lot of improvement to do and things I can add, I have in mind of having a tool to create a balance pro folio between HIVE and Hbd in order to be able to withdraw some profits over the years like you would do In a retirement account without breaking the compounding too much.
I am open and even encourage feature requests, there is a form at the bottom you can load to describe what you want, also you can do that on threads here on Inleo or a comment under this posts or other for me.
2025-2026 - Turning into an on demand dev agency for hive
Part of the reason for the project is for me to acquire skills in using hive blockchain as a backend for my development project and building useful product maybe not for the millions but for the few that found their way to this ecosystem, Hive allows everyone to be part of it and to try something out, maybe it will work maybe it won't.
I can see the project turning into an agency with a team working on making products the Hive/Leo community wants, I think making small angular app isn't that hard for me and I want to see how much I can push that into. Sometimes simple tools can make our experience better.
Thanks to all that will follow me on this journey, give feedback and come back and try the apps every few months to see the evolution of it.
As a precaution measure in case this grow into a brand, I have registered the Hive account for @hivekpi and @hivekpi.com for later use.

Hey, nice job mate. The app works ok, even if the styling is a bit off. that part is no big deal. I would make the entry fields smaller and probably center the calculate and reset buttons.
Can I ask if you can send me a witness vote, I would appreciate it. I'll keep an eye out for any updates to your app.
I might look more into the CSS when I can a bit more features on it, I agree I need to add max width for bigger screen, at least it looks ok on mobile too.
As for witness vote, I will look into it, I probably need to review some of my previous votes and send out new ones. Nice to meet someone doing that kind of work. Congrats on setting up the node.
Thanks mate, we all do our bit to build on the blockchain
