No it isn't bad, you just have a set amount of voting power that regenerate 20% per day and an upvote at 100% is worth 2% if I remember correctly meaning you have only 10 votes at a 100% per day if you split votes at 50% you can do 20 instead. Doing more than that will drain your power, the less you have, the less impact your vote has on the allocation of the reward pool therefore also reducing your potential curation reward(I think).

You're welcome, it is part of the mechanics on the layer one token which is HIVE and I don't think you would come across this information unless you look into how it work, I believe LEO is using the same on the second layer.
