Long story short, I am not sure I can justify the cost anymore, I have tried it for over one year and I enjoyed it but I am not using it on a daily basis and I want to try also other options and reduce cost.
The main reason for paying was image generations and help to code stuff and debug but I don't use it at the moment and I want to see if I might have enough with a less expensive tool or even with the free plans, not sure I would be going over the limit anyway.
I probably should have canceled 3 months ago as my usage was very low during my travels but it is so much easier to just keep going, payment keeps coming to it.
Anyway Leo AI is coming soon so I can use that for free with my early premium subscription 😀
When I registered to Open AI, I think it was only GPT3.5 or something and within a very short time they did release more and more of their new model, as a paid member I would get access before with limited queue time. The arrival of Dall-E within the newest model was a great addition as you could create image "for free", I was pretty impressed with the results.
AI is becoming the thing now and it did catch mainstream adoption fast, I met a lot of young people that know about it and the next generation might use that by default compare to a classic good search and cross checking information.
I did notice a recent addition when I started to ask for sources, GPT would provide them and now it seems to be a default on my search, at the bottom I have the logo of different websites with link to the information because I you know AI is not 100% good information but it can still save you a lot of time to find sources and verify yourself rather than searching the web.
Career opportunity?
I think AI skills might become requirement in some jobs in order to increase productivity, like knowing how to read and send email or some word processing became expected of anyone working in a corporate job with a computer. A skill that if you don't have basic knowledge off might make you less attractive than other candidates.
It is also one of the field that can threaten even entry level software developer role as AI is now able to spit out part of code and do some basic programming, maybe the job will be to do more code check and managing AI output to suit the companies need. The future is anyone's guess.
Something I find intriguing is that everyone is now using the word AI to describe simple program or algorithm even if they have been running for 10 years, it is becoming a thing to say any autonomous computer program that I can't control is doing that. Soon airline will say the flight is late because of AI program instead of IT problems.
Anyway I want to keep informing myself on the subject and track development but I expect the speed to really pickup when we get the next model in 1-2 years that are way more advance and are also in competition for users and data. Would it be possible that at some point people do get paid for using it instead of the other way around just because the company needs more data to grow the model?
For you here is one image from GPT before my subscription ends on the 3rd of January 2025.

I am trying to post a few more articles before the end of the year and hit some other goals in Hive usage and activity, I find it is really becoming easier to just turn thoughts into word with practice.
For those following my travel series I will probably post also an update soon, still a bit behind on that but I realize it is actually a better way of doing it than live as I have more time to write without the pressure of time. I do record what I do on a nearly daily basis in order to have the content save and use that as a base for later. The downside is that I can't meet people if they ask me in comments because I might be weeks ahead in my trip but so fare it didn't happen anyway.

That seems quite pricey for AI. Even Grok is much cheaper but probably less good. Are there many benefits over the free one?
Didn't try grok yet as not really a twitter user but will checkout next month the free option of GPT than competition.
