Wrapping my head around NFTs
Ooooi! First mint ever.. at least, the official mint where you would get a random piece of NFT, that sort of thing. Not a broken piece of art I tried minting it myself a few months back when NFT started to explode. Well, honestly, I have never fully understood NFTs. Lately, because another NFT wave is here so I'm trying to learn and get into it bit by bit.
My circle of crypto friends would spend thousands of dollars on a single NFT. One of them just sold a pixel art for 20 ETH so roughly $60k Well, that's the part I don't understand. Sometimes it just doesn't make any sense (it may do for some, that I get it.)
Finding alternative
CELO: A few days ago, I got news from a Thai crypto group sharing about a name service provider on Celo blockchain on Nom Space. They mentioned that this could be a potential airdrop just like ENS (Ethereum Name Service) and TNS (Terra Name Service) so yup, I follow their lead.
Then, a few days after, they say, those who have minted their domain name will have a chance to mint some of their only 6000 pieces of the NFT art collection 'Nomstronaut' for actually reasonable prices and very cheap gas fees, unlike on Ethereum network. I minted a few Nomstronauts and now their are listed on https://epor.io
Funny story, when I was browsing around finding some info about the project, I came across this one NFT project on Celo on Twitter, called Womxn of Celo. The mint was still live and it's not sold out just yet. Not gonna be any game or metaverse involved. Just simple and clean art with the team that seems legit. I also love the concept 'Empowering Womxn Around the World Through Blockchain and Art' so, I minted one just for fun really. Thinking of just hodling this one forever. It's pretty and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg either.
SOL: Another bigger play (Not as big as on ETH but I know it's coming!) SBF and FTX are backing it so, I'm positive on this one. Their Portal https://theportal.to/, the #solana metaverse is also being built and it really sounds exciting and HUGE!
I have been watching and learning load tons about NFT on Solana and I have my eyes on some of the project that gonne have the minting event happening these next few weeks. Spoiler Alert! Alpha Gorillas (super cool and super hyped!) & Bizarre Platypus (Cuteeeee af)*
A few things I love so much about doing stuff on Solana is how inexpensive and fast the transactions are! I believe this is so perfect for the metaverse, gaming and all that in general, so I strongly believe that if the NFT and the metaverse will really play a big part in 2022 and the coming years, Solana will be one of those places we'd like keep eyes on.
Anyways, if I get my hands of some of the Solana NFTs, I will be sharing my collection here! :)

HIVE: I know we got one as well! It would be weird to not mention our Hive blockchain's NFT platform, https://nftshowroom.com/ I know it's there. Zero gas fee, super fast transactions and much more but to be honest, we still need volume and a few more ingredients.
I have actually gave the platform a try back then when it was newly launched. I even created my own 3D NFT collection that I actually almost forgot I have been having it there. Still there, perhaps it actually sounds expensive when HIVE is up this much. Back then Hive was sub $1 or much lower.. :/
