I already commented here, but I have a great idea!
Since people disagree on the value these posts bring to the platform...
MAYBE we could do a vote on it. Like the post could be open for a week and invested people with stake in the game could upvote it or downvote it.. After the post is open for a week, the Author gets the rewards of stake-based consensus!
That would be cool!
(you have stake you know what to do)
Obviously you are being sarcastic, but the problem is people don't realize it, they drop $5, $10, $20 on the post, and all of a sudden we have $130 posts that have been autoposted. The point is to raise awareness.
The problem is that we are asking voters to evaluate a post's value, but the only answers available are "more" and "less".
I'm not sure about the scalability or implementation complexity, but I think you should be able to include a threshold value in your upvote, eg. "this upvote counts until the post hits $20 and no more". Even if this is only available to power users, and most interfaces retain simple upvote/downvote UI.
that would be a great idea (or should at least be discussed)
