Chess isn't the most financially buoyant sport.
It surely lags behind in comparison to major physical sports.
Alot of people do not even consider the game a sport.
Well, regardless of it not being a top tier paying sports; It still pays!
Not just financially but some other ways as well.
Here's how :
Chess connects you with a great network of highly intellectual and intelligent people. Since chess is a game of the mind, the vast majority of it's players are really strong and open minded individuals ; making for great connectivity.
Personally, chess has changed my life, especially with regards to the people I've meet whilst playing the game.
Most of the highlights of my year includes some sort of Chess event or engagement with chess players.
The buisness I am currently working on is with a team of chess players and even when I was experiencing tons of lows, it was my chess friends who came through for me.
Given the fact that I had been a introvert for the most part of my life, I'm extremely glad I found chess as it has helped me network with alot of great minds.
Your network is equivalent to your net-worth
Chess improves you as a person.
Another take-away from chess is the ability for it to improve you as a person. Studies has shown that playing chess can help ones' ability to think more critically and make proper decisions not just over the board but in real life.
That is why chess is being thought in schools alot more these days and also used for charity/empowerment programs.
One of the most outstanding which is Chessinslum initiative. It is a non profit chess charity movement that aims to turn less privileged children into Stars via the game of Chess.
Alot of children have been granted great opportunities to a better life through this program.
This is only possible because chess teaches a lot of life lessons that could help any individual improve their perspective towards life.
Chess is a very easy game to learn but extremely difficult to master. Regardless, you can still earn while you learn.
How is that?
Here on hive we have a chess community.
Where we constantly engage in various chess events and tournaments.
One of which is starting today : Hivechess
It has been on for a while and a new season-13 begins in some hours from now. by @stayoutofherz
The great thing is that the tournament is structured in a way that even beginners get rewards rewards in the end. What matters most is participation and not just who comes first.
At the end of the season, participants get rewarded with Hive and this season over 500 Leo would be shared.
Click here to learn more about the tournament.
Another way to earn from chess is by playing tournaments.
Usually, there are always local tournament that are divided into categories where you can get rewarded if you finish top.
You can also earn with chess by streaming, making YouTube contents and even here on Hive.
So what are you waiting for?
Thank you for reading!
