My Year Of Excellence

in LeoFinancelast month

Every single year, I give myself a theme to run by. This year, I chose the theme "Year of Excellence" because I want to train myself to be excellent in any field I find myself in.

Why is being excellent so important?

Do you know why certain goods are more expensive than others? I bet you do. It's because they're of a higher quality. No sane person would pick an inferior good over a luxury good if they have the money to pay for it.

And what makes something luxurious? It's simply because it was excellently made.

I wouldn't mind paying a higher price for something that was crafted with a dash of excellence. This simply means that people wouldn't mind giving you more money if whatever you produce is of higher quality.

Simple logic then: want more money? Produce higher quality in your field.

Here comes the pain

To produce higher quality would mean you would have to put in extra effort, extra hours, and extra resources. That's always been the trade-off. People want to do little for more, but that's not how the world works. Of course, as you train yourself, the difficult things become easy, and therefore you would be able to produce quality with ease.

But at the very beginning, you will have to train.

A classical example would be bodybuilding. Picking up certain weights at the beginning of your journey feels difficult, but as you continue clanging and banging, the initial weight now feels lightweight, and you start to develop muscles to make that weight easier.

Why some Thrive and others Don't

Do you know that there are employees who are being sought after by employers all over the world to be paid a heavy amount of money (I'm talking millions of dollars), and there are employees who are chasing after employers for jobs paying just a few dollars?

Why is this so?

Why is one chasing and the other being chased?

The key I found, upon studying a lot of successful people by listening to their speeches and interviews online, is that they put in the effort to be super good at what they do. Infact not just good, the best.

In other words, if you're not being sought after, it's a sign you haven't achieved the level of excellence required in your field.

I told myself I'm not going to ask people with huge HPs or LPs on this platform to upvote me. I'm just going to keep improving my blogs until I get to the point where people are interested in reading them. This is my commitment, and I will let the community decide if my articles are worthy of rewards.

I made a thread a while ago while brainstorming this article, and I got a response from a community member who I believe plays a huge role in inleo.io.

@tsunsica's words are motivation enough for me to continue improving myself in this field.

So, here is a challenge for you, dear reader: endeavor to be excellent. When you compare your work today to what it will be at the end of the year, you should see a dramatic difference. That alone will give you a sense of fulfillment.
