I got a similar email. It had an email I used a decade ago for low security sites.
So, someone bought a hacked email database.
I admit, the email made my heart stop. I couldn't remember the sites where I used the password.
Hackers will often take their databases and run brute force scripts that attempt to log into thousands of sites. If they get into an account, they might find slowly work their way into something important.
I don't think these spammers are playing that game. However, other, more skillful hackers, may have bought the same list.
I didn't know it was from a database, that's scarier.
