SteemIt Witness List

in LeoFinance3 years ago

On hearing that Justin Sun evacuated STEEM, I decided to take a gander at the SteemIt Witness List. The list is still dominated by the carnage left by the hostile takeover of the platform.

I kept my SteemIt account active as I didn't think it was worth liquidating. All of the witnesses I supported were terminated after the hardfork.

I haven't followed any of the STEEM witnesses. But, since this is a time of change for STEEM, I thought I would start investigating the witnesses. Perhaps there are some that are friendly to HIVE.

Perhaps some HIVE friendly developers might consider relaunching their witness nodes.

STEEM is in a time of change. Are there any witnesses on the SteemIt Witness List that you would support in determining the direction of the change?

The picture is just a fancy house that I walked by during one of my daily 10K walks.

I explored this witness list. Seems that things are a bit stagnate there.

I personally do not see anyone that is promising but Steemchiller but eh. I saw dlike but I never had good experiences with the d apps namely dtube, though not sure if they are related but also remember dlike being influential back in the day.

I am wondering if @dan will take this opportunity go back to his baby and help raise it to be how how he envisioned it to be since he has not had much success in creating a project since losing all momentum by having @ned under cut his honest efforts to create something bigger than himself. Doubtful since his views on rewards and earnings from content creation is not the same since Steem was created. Still, might be great opportunity to turn his bad luck around perhaps. Is Dan still in the shadows of HIVE helping drive development? Hmmm not sure one can wonder though.

From what I am seeing from companies like @someeofficial, they are saying the steem network is broken and slow. Apparently the witnesses there claim to be original steem devs with lots of knowledge but unable to make system work, HA!

I really see Steem as a dead platform on its last leg with only opportunistic people. Though I understand there are African whales who support the African community nicely or used too as I do not see this being the case anymore. Based off recent experiences, I would not trust anyone there on steem and feel its a dangerous place for anyone to travel to much less use.

Things can change in this world of illusion in a blink of an eye though. For nothing is what it really seems and for the individual observer a simple powerful thought can change anything for the better or worse. So I guess only time can tell.

The HIVE witnesses are doing too much work with our system on HIVE with immense success, in my opinion to even consider steem to be anything of value or worth anyone's time. However, interoperability in the web 3.0 world may help bring positive change ultimately to steem. Never know how useful the steem network can be with helping expand HIVE's footprint with some honest development by people who can make that network purrrrr like our witnesses can. Maybe Dan would help institute this wild and crazy possibility...

I was surprised at how shallow the steemit witness list became during Sun's dominion.

Since STEEM has an active brand, we are likely to see it taken over by someone. The fear is that the person who takes charge of STEEM will affect HIVE; so the HIVE community should try to influence whatever decision comes down the pike.

Well something as it seems it is a breeding ground for really bad opportunistic people to grow in power like a bad fungus that is growing due to neglect

It will be interesting to see if any change happens to Steem. Unfortunately, all I see is that it has become a place where I feared bid bots would lead to if left unchecked. So happy that we got rid of them.

For me, Steem is in the past. I abandoned my account completely and don't regret it. Wish them luck, but can't say I care all that much

I just don't think that without leadership ...

Yes, SteemIt lacks leadership. The shallow witness list proves it. This is why I see an opportunity for people from HIVE to step in and retake the reigns.

I changed the keys for my STEEM, HIVE and BLURT accounts after the hardforks.

One of the prime reasons that I kept my SteemIt Account active was that I was worried about security.

I actually suggest that news users on HIVE create SteemIt and Blurt accounts to prevent name squatting.
