There are indeed a number of ways to put our unused HP into good use to generate some passive income from them. Delegating to Ecency is the best for me because the payout is in liquid Hive.

Indeed, I feel getting 100% of your curation gains in liquid hive very attractive as well.
I don't know if you are familiar with the HSBI system but to summarize, when you delegate HP to them, you have a reward counter that increases in the background and this reward is "sent" to you when you make a post. This system has the advantage that the reward counter keeps increasing even if you do not post.As for the other use cases I can think of, there is for example a delegation to @steembasicincome.
As for other uses, I will have to do more research and calculations 😁!
