Every new technological advancement comes with the ability to do things faster and more efficiently. The cost of setting up a business has been significantly reduced over the years. However, there is always a missing link in connecting all the pieces in one place. Business owners have to juggle between different platforms to run their business.
On Web 2.0, A business owner has a store on Amazon or eBay, Stripe or Paypal as a payment provider, Instagram or TikTok as a marketing platform and Alibaba as a manufacturer or supplier. There have been constant improvements in integrating all this platforms together but the synergy is always missing at the base layer.
With Web 3.0, this is not the case anymore. Everything can be operated from a single source. What’s Web 3.0 really? I don’t think there is a standard definition of it yet. The general idea is that it is the third iteration of the internet, hence Web 3.0. Whenever I hear someone say ‘web 3.0’, my mind comes to Hive because I believe it is in all its aspects the definition of Web 3.0.
Here's a great post about Hive leading the charge into web 3.0.
The Components
The main components of a business can be summarized into three main categories; Production, Marketing and Financials. Production deals with the creation of the product or service, Marketing is about selling the product or service and Financials deal with getting paid for the service or product you provide.Production
We live in a digital age, digital products and services are becoming the norm. This can be in the form of blog posts, eBooks, online courses, software and more recently, digital collectibles. With NFTs and tokenization, almost everything in the physical world will be digitized, from pieces of artworks to real estate. Can one digitize water? On Hive, the production process is fairly simple. Every account is a business account and you can get paid on the get go. There’s no need for any additional setups. Whether you’re creating NFTs on NFTShowroom, microblogging on Threads or Dbuzz or trying out blogging on Peakd or Engrave. You just have to produce something that ‘sells’. The more valuable it is, the better.
There isn’t much difference on the production side between web 2.0 and web 3.0. Since this is largely dependent on the individual’s creativity. The major difference is in how you market what you create and getting paid for it.
Marketing
Selling is as important as creating. It is a fundamental part of growing a business. Social media, because of its huge number of audience is the most popular way of marketing a product. Yet, Amazon or eBay doesn’t have a social media aspect to market your products. For that, you will also have to create an account on Instagram or TikTok running both of them side by side. This is not the case on Hive. Social media is a fundamental (one of the earliest) component of the ecosystem. Having a Hive account grants you ability to engage with all of its components. You can create and list an NFT on NFTShowroom and market it on Threads all within the ecosystem and from the same account.
Financials
It’s a complete headache when it comes to payments on Web 2.0. Some of the headaches are submitting KYC forms that take days or weeks before approval, getting unnecessary payment holds and having to endure ridiculous fees that eat away on your profits. When it comes to payments, Hive is at the top spot with its fast and feeless transactions. There are also no KYCs and unnecessary payment holds. Payments are directly deposited to your bank account (wallet) once a transaction happens. Isn’t that the dream of every business owner?
In Conclusion
From a single account on Hive, you can start, build and grow a business with ease and less hassle through access to capabilities that are only hoped for in the Web 2.0 space. The best part is you truly own your account (business) and not merely renting it. Amazon or eBay, for whatever reasons can decide to close your account and shutdown your business. That can’t happen on Hive.I recently read an article where it was mentioned that Hive is taken for granted. I couldn’t agree more. It’s too good to be true!
What do you think? Is there an easier way of building a business other than through Hive?
Happy Hardfork day, Everyone!
Thanks for reading!

Excellent article here! I totally agree that Hive is super undervalued and it has so many uses.
One of the biggest problems is that it is so open ended that people get lost then just give up. Most websites have some sort of safety net and that just isnt the case with Hive. You are expected to just figure it out.

Considering all the capabilities Hive has, it is indeed undervalued. The world will be surprised when they know about Hive!
That's one of the drawbacks of the ecosystem, it's hard to navigate through it at the beginning due to its complexity.
Thank you for the support :)
