Cats have different personalities for different people. I coddle her and pick her up and move her while my wife loves to pet her but she does not "dare to offend" the Princess.
She is still my Princess... but she is a cat... so when she is sleeping on my spot, I pick her up and then hold her and pet her and tell her she is safe to stay and sleep on top of me. And she usually settles down.
While with my wife if she disturbs her slightly, the cat gets up and goes to sulk about it. !LOL
That's very true, yes, as I can attest! The kitty to which I referred last night adores me, and always wants to be close, and for me to caress and love her, but this is something that she very rarely does with others.
That's a great way to deal with the cat-in-needed-spot situation, and I'd say that it's a big reason that she loves and trusts you so much. I do a very similar thing with this kitty cat.
Haha...that's how this kitty is when I have to get things done and can't have her sitting on top of me. She always forgives me and comes back, however...lol! π π π β¨ π€
