While censorship is a good motivator to move away from the YouTubes and other mainstream platforms, it may be a blow to the ego for a YouTuber or instagrammer with thousands of followers to start brand new. That being said, if they do, the rewards can add up quick seeing as they are networking and marketing veterans of sorts.
I do like the liberation of the Facebook creators who produce content for free or vanity alone. Just become a blogger and see where that takes you. STEEM is the place for all of those and anyone looking to boost their online brand and presence.

You have seized upon a good point. As Tarazkp said, until they come for you it’s amnother persons problem
If they have been demonetized, they have little choice. at least when they start again, their audience that they build is "theirs" as they can move much more easily across the ecosystem, plus leverage multiple applications simultaneously without having to start fresh on each.
I think that in the future there is a good chance that the early adopters will be very glad they were.
