Ferrari has just launched the latest berlinetta supercar, the Ferrari 296 GTB, which uses electric car technology.
The presence of the Ferrari 296 GTB is the second Ferrari model to use Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology besides the Ferrari SF90 Stradale.
Not only hybrid drive, the Ferrari 296 GTB is also the latest Ferrari to use a V6 engine.

The Ferrari 296 GTB is equipped with a new 2,992 cc 120 degree V6 engine with twin-turbocharger aspirations.
Referred to as the "little V12," the V6 engine is claimed to produce 663 hp of peak power and 740 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 RPM.
Interestingly, the engine is coupled with an electric motor producing 167 hp and 315 Nm of torque right before the 8-speed dual clutch gearbox.
Enrico Galliera, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of Ferrari, said that the Ferrari 296 GTB will be side by side with the Ferrari F8 Tributo and Ferrari SF90.
The electric motor works like the Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic (MGU-K) in a Ferrari Formula 1 engine.
When the car is driven, the motor and the Ferrari 296 GTB V6 engine combine and are claimed to produce a combined power of 830 hp to the rear wheels.
Then when the car brakes, the electric motor charges a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 7.45 kW which can also be charged plug-in.
The electric power can be used independently because the MGU-K 296 GTB motor can operate independently as far as the claimed distance of 25 kilometers.
Ferrari plans to start delivering the first Ferrari 296 GTB units to customers from the first quarter of 2022.
The Ferrari 296 GTB starts from 269,000 Euros or Rp. 4.64 billion and 302,000 Euros or Rp. 5,209 billion with the Assetto Fiorano package in Italy. (Exchange rate of 1 Euro = IDR 17.251.3)
