There are still many great cars during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance sale through Gooding & Company but these are cars I already talked about in previous posts and I don't have much more to say about them like this 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider Competizione with an estimate price of $10,000,000. I prefer to focus on models that I haven't talked about yet and that I know less about so I can learn few information at the same time 😀.
So today, here is the stunning 1957 Maserati 200 SI penned by Fantuzzi with an estimated price around $4,000,000... half the price of the Ferrari. Every time, I wonder if this kind of car finds a buyer easily.
If you want to see some of the cars sold during Pebble Beach sale on August 13 & 14, here's a follow-up and as the estimated prices were finally available, a price update :

History of Maserati 200
The Maserati 200 S aka Tipo 52 was produced between 1952 and 1959 with only 28 examples of this sports racers produced. It belongs to the series Maserati 150, 200, and 250. It was penned by Medardo Fantuzzi (1906–1986), Italian automotive engineer famous for his workshop Carrozzeria Fantuzzi (Maserati A6 GCS, Maserati 350S...).
The 200 S was created in order to compete against the Ferrari 500 Mondial. In contrast to the 150S model, the beginning on the race track wasn't a success with an accident during its first race, 1955 Imola Grand Prix, with Franco Bordoni behind the wheel... It wasn't until 1956 that the first victories were achieved with a class win during the 1956 Mille Miglia and first and second position at the 1956 Bari Grand Prix.
The 250 SI aka Sport Internazionale was presented in 1957 in order to match the new international racing rules (FIA Appendix C regulations).
This example (chassis 2423) was bought in 1957 in Houston through Carroll Shelby Motors in order to participate to US races with behind the wheel Joe Sheppard (son of a successful import car dealership). But during in race in 1958, the car was destroyed and sent back to Modena for a rebuild. After several other owners and participation in events,in 2008, the cracked engine was replaced by a new 2.5-liter engine. Beautiful Maserati 200 SI, perfect to impress on the roads...
Specification
The Maserati 200 SI has a 2,490 CC DOHC inline-four light-alloy engine featuring twin Weber 45 DCO3 carburetors producing 235 hp at 7,500 rpm. It mated to 5 speed manual gearbox.
The car is finished in a beautiful red with the number 23 with blue racing seats. Stunning car... It must be a thrill to be behind this wheel especially on race tracks (because to go to buy the bread, it's a little too much 😀) I advise you to watch the video, just for the sound of the engine (too bad there is a background music to this presentation).

Yep stunning car with a stunning price 😀
What a stunning car. Maserati need there spark back :)
I totally agree with you... And Maseratti isn't the only brand that has to need the spark back. But it.s possible a design like in the 60's & 70's with the changes and innovation that the car industry has to do for electrification 🤞
I equally agree with the designs of the 60's and 70's, they were interesting to watch and wonder about their splendor.
