Perhaps you've missed the point. I'm not saying that sexist jokes lead directly to violence, or that if you've ever made a sexist joke, you're that 'type'. Nor am I saying that those that DON'T make sexist jokes are great human beings.
What I'm saying is that sexist jokes make many woman feel fucking uncomfortable, and can be the reason they don't participate in certain situations eg particular jobs or roles, because of this kind of 'funny'. And if you aren't listening to that, yes, you too are part of the problem.
When I was reading the comments in response to the Instagram post, I felt physically sick to my stomach - and I certainly wasn't the only one.
I'm sure you realise the difference between sexual jokes in private company or that are in comedic situations designed to highlight particular issues or the banality of sex and so on, and the intentional joking that is designed to offend and demean woman, and persists despite them feeling uncomfortable. And mark my words, woman will rarely call it, because they're too scared to, because they'll be shot down for it, and anyone who resists is told they're a snowflake or too politically correct.
