Yes it is. I don't know the method but I have some theories. The trouble is that without knowing what the other accounts are doing we can only guess.

The search links and notable posts is a start to a cross-social discussion structure that can be adopted easily with the aid of an app I am developing. I have many times followed a topic on one social media site and wondered if I am in an echo chamber. I'd try another and find the same topic - sometimes the exact same post but a different set of users discussing it. Posts like this can be a landing place to see what people are really saying about a topic while ensuring that the discussion here is going to be reliable.

My vision for this is that a user could submit the post they are reading on X, for instance. The app would extract keywords from it and bring the user to the reference discussion here. They could post a link to this back to their thread with a short note like, "See the reference discussion here and see if you're in an echo chamber!"

The design is to have the post be useable with a generic front-end. A user can click the search links, suggest more posts to include in the notable posts by commenting. But, a link to the full-featured app would also be included in the post.

On echo Chambers, I think a problem is that people need to think they are right, and are afraid to be wrong.
So they seek out stuff supporting their view and reject others.

I get it now, it's only in communities so the owner can control their community, fair enough.

On X it is not a community that is censoring. It was first a loss of blue check and then some were restored and then just didn't appear in people's feeds. Elon took personal action to restore some accounts one day but not all affected. There was an algorithm change that would explain some of this and someone has bots that could game the algorothm to deboost certain accounts.

Cheers, this is a lose for X then, it's why i'm here! lol, and nostr and bastyon.

X is the latest test I had with the "benevolent dictator" web2 apps. I give it a B-
