With that out of the way, welcome to the next installment of the Beginner's Guide to Serfdom & Sorcery Discord Game. In this article these topics will be discussed:
- The Market
- Pet Management
- Production
- Bestiary
So sit back and relax reading through this amazing guide.
The Market
According to '!help market' command:
The market is a player to player market that allows you to trade a lot of goods and even buildings. It is a limitmarket, meaning buy and sellorder are placed.
Resources may have a game price at which a resource can always be bought and labor resources have buywalls, minimum prices at which the game will always accept sells.
This simply means that players can buy and sell goods in the S&S market. The goods that can be sold and bought in the market are the following:
- wood
- steel
- wool
- wheat
- corn
- hay
- stone
- coal
- ironore
- chicken
- bread
- chickenegg
- apple
- vegetable
- herbs
- mininglabor
- farms
- ranches
- seedlingCitadel
- acropolis
- miningcomplex
In order to know what the price of a certain goods in the market, the '!showmarket |resource|' command is used. For example, this is how you see the market listings for steel:
As you can see, the '!showmarket resource' command shows the Buyorders, Sellorders, Tax and Game Price for the resource 'steel'.
BuyOrders
The Buyorders list are those players willing to buy the commodity at a set price per item and the quantity they want. For example, hivedrip_70868 here would like to buy 301 steel for 176 DBLN each:
If you want to buy a resource, the command is '!buy |resource| |quantity|'. For example, if you want to buy 1 steel, the command is '!buy steel 1'. The price of steel you will buy will depend on the lowest selling price of steel (The lowest price in the SellOrder list).
If the current selling price of the commodity is not within your budget, you can list a buy order for that commodity and set the price you are willing to pay, the command is: '!listbuyorder |resource| |quantity| |price|'. For example, if you want to buy 1 steel for 200 DBLN each:
SellOrders
Sellorders list are those players who are selling the commodity at a set price per item and the total quantity they have. For example, Mr. bawb_the_builder here sells 12 steel for a price of 649 DLBN each.
If you want to sell a resource, the command is '!sell |resource| |quantity|'. For example, to sell 1 steel, the command is '!sell steel 1'. This will sell the steel to the highest bidder of BuyOrder list of steel. (Which is also me, I listed a buyorder earlier of 200 hehe)
If you want to sell a commodity with a higher or lower price, you can list a sell order with the command '!listsellorder |resource| |quantity| |price|' For example, to sell 1 steel for 650 DBLN each:
Collecting Purchases and Sales
In S&S, the goods that you bought in the buyorders and the tokens you got from sales in sellorders are NOT automatically transferred your account. You need to collect them.
To collect the goods you purchased through your buyorders, the command is
'!collectpurchases'.
To collect the tokens you got from sales through your sellorders, the command is '!collectsales'
Pet Management
Pets are few of the recent additions in S&S. The game allows you to own, train and battle pets in the Arena. In order to catch a pet, you will need 'nets'. The nets differ in effectiveness and resources need to create them.
Nets
Net | Resources Needed | Effectiveness | Description |
---|---|---|---|
serfnet | 30 energy | 1.2 | Novice Player's Net |
gearnet | 150 energy | 2 | Mid-tier Net |
weak | 3 wool, 3 wood | 1 | For players with the resources but not the energy |
strong | 5 wool, 5 wood, 2 steel | 2 | Same effectiveness as gearnet. If you got the resources, why not. |
superstrong | 10 wool, 10 wood, 5 steel | 3 | Stronger net. |
mega | 20 wool, 20 wood, 15 steel | 5 | More effective than superstrong net. |
spirit | 700 energy | 7 | The most effective net. |
Note: As of this writing, the cost for Spirit Net is temporarily reduced to 200 energy to promote catching pets.
To create a net, the command is '!makenet |type|'. For example, to create serfnet, the command is:
Catching Pets
To catch a pet, the command is '!catchpet'. The success of catching pets depends on the effectiveness of your net.
If you are lucky to catch one. The pet information (rarity, type, name and power) will be displayed:
Sheesh, look at that baby!
Pet Training
Pets will be pitted against each other in the Arena. In order to win, you need to train your pet i.e. increasing their power. To know what pets you have and their information, you need to type '!managepets'.
Choose the pet you would like to view.
In the Pet Information window, you will see the name, type, rarity and power of your pet. You can choose to train, convert or sell your pet.
To train a pet, you will need Souls. You can convert the pets you don't need to Souls. You will need 2 herbs to convert the pet to souls. The amount of Souls you can obtain depends on their power of the converted pet.
1 soul will increase the power of a pet by 1.
Pets can also be sold to the market by clicking the Sell button. You can set the price of the pet and will be available in the pet market. The command is '!petmarket'
Pet Arena
The Arena is where pets will battle each other to receive some rewards. To place your pet into the Arena, you need to type '!arenastuff'.
When you choose the pet, the pet will automatically join the arena. The battles will be shown in the arena-channel of Psyber-X discord
The battles will ensue in the arena, until your pet dies.
At the end of each season, pets that reach the leaderboard will receive HIVE rewards. To see the leaderboards, type '!arenaleaderboard'.
Production
In S&S, if you want to produce food and resources, you will need buildings like farm, ranch, cheesecellar, furnace etc. These buildings produce different types of food and resources and has different requirements to build.
Buildings
Building | Requirements | Production |
---|---|---|
farm | - | Apple, Vegetable, Wheat, Corn, Chicken, Chickeneggs, Bread |
ranch | Combine 2 farms | Same as farms |
seedlingCitadel | Combine 40 ranches | Same as ranches |
acropolis | Combine 200 ranches | Same as citadels |
cheesecellar | 20 wood, 2 steel, 10 stone | Cheese |
furnace | 50 wood, 100 steel, 200 stone | Steel |
miningcomplex | 500 wood, 500 steel, 500 stone | Coal, Stone, Ironore |
Note: farms, ranches, seedlingCitadels and acropolises are available in the market.
Production Overview
Once you own a building, for example a farm, that building will be idle by default. Idle buildings don't produce anything. To view which of your buildings are idle or active, use the command '!productionoverview'
You need to set a building to produce a particular resource or food to make it active. The command for that is '!setproduction |resource| |quantity|'. For example, to start the production of apples:
Once you set the production of a resource, you will be give production points in certain amount of time. For example, the apple production farm will give us 1 production point (PP) for every 4 hours (240 mins).
Production Manual
Every resource in the game gives PP once you set a production for it. But they differ in the amount (of PP) and time frame. To know the amount of PP a resource gives, use the command '!productionmanual |resource|. Here is the production manual for the apple:
Aside from the PP, the production manual also tells us the maximum production points a building or facility can accommodate. For this example, an apple farm can only have a maximum of 100 PPs. So better spend those PPs to avoid wasting it. The production manual also includes the requirements to actually produce the apple like farmlabor and energy.
Some productions also require other resources aside from farmlabor and energy. For example, to produce a chickenegg you will also need corn and chicken.
Production Cycle
Once you get some PPs, the actual production can now be done. We call this the production cycle. To produce the resource, you need the command '!produce |resource| |production point|'. Lets go back to the chickenegg, notice that I already have 5 PPs.
To produce 5 chickenegg (since I got 5 PPs), the command is:
Animal Farms
Animal Farms are farms that contain a livestock. Chickens are the only livestock available for now. Cows and Sheeps do not count as livestocks hence doesn't require a farm to be owned.
To set a farm to become an animal farm, you need to add the animal first by using the command '!addlivestock |animal| |quantity|'. For example, to add a chicken to the farm, the command is:
Note: a farm can host 5 chickens.
You can always remove the animal from the farm to sell it to the market by using the '!removelivestock |animal| |quantity|'.
Bestiary
At level 20, players can own cows and sheeps without the need for a farm. To start owning cows and sheeps, you need to buy a bestiary. The command is '!buybestiary'. It will cost 50K DBLN. Cows in S&S produces milk which is an important resource for cheese production. On the other hand, Sheeps produce wool which is important for producing resources and buildings.
Cows
In S&S, you can only own 10 cows (indexed from 0 to 9). For a cow to produce milk, you need the command '!milkcow |index|'. For example, to milk the first cow, the command is:
The requirement to milk a cow is 3 hay and 15 energy.
Sheeps
In S&S, you can own sheeps to produce wool. Wool is used in most resources and buildings in the game. To produce wool, the command '!sheersheep |index|' is needed. For example, to sheer the first sheep:
You need 20 hay and 15 energy to sheer a sheep.
