RE: Weekend-engagement topic week 50: The natural world

Brown praying mantis
Found this critter in my veggie garden 18 Jan 2021. Was quite surprised because I'd never seen brown ones before. He seemed to like the camera a was very friendly. I love how little things make such a huge impact.

Sometimes the smaller parts of nature can provide such interest...Unless they're eating your vegetables of course!

😂 I don't mind them eating rhubarb leaves

We all have to eat I guess - Nice of you to share it around. :)

That we do lol

Amen. I had to tend my Grandmother's little plot at my parents house. The pressure on a 7 or 8 year old was enormous. Plus I hated the taste...

You weren't worried about whatever that brown thing is helping itself to your garden?

Haha no. It was a praying mantis, they're ok.

Hey @stevenson come look at this.. where's one of those insect pictures you have got

Pretty amazing picture. I'm no big fan of insects but always like seeing photographs of them...

Thanks, they have a role to play.

How friendly did you guys get?
Haha does he have a name? 😁😁😁

Hmmm.... maybe I'll name him Benny, like Benny and the jets.

Hahha I like it!
Cheers to Benny!
