If you could make the world an amazing and beautiful place where humanity thrived in the future, but doing so means killing every person currently existing on the planet to start from scratch, would you do it and why/why not?
Umm.. good question. Definitely deserves an answer.
'Killing every person currently existing' - OK but what would be the means of killing. Will it be humane and peaceful like the way chicken on my plate is killed.
I think it would be better to wipe out people after giving them a few months of luxurious life. So called free range criteria would be fulfilled .
The question says - "would you do it", that means I'll be the head of this megaproject. So I'll make sure everyone eats well and has a great life of few months and only after then they are shot in the head or whatever the most readily available humane method is. Obviously I'll not waste my time on euthanasia as that is not practically possible.
Now coming to the 'humanity thriving in the future' part. Future here means millions of years. It would take time for the evolution of new kind of species be it humans again or may be something else. Earth would say - "No humans again please" LOLBut let's say new Homo Sapiens arise the same day old ones are wiped out. Now they are here to start life from scratch it means there is no previous human-made structure left.
I believe perfect humanity is a scam. Yes, the percentage could be different, but given the kind of brain humans have, I'll not take a bet on fantasy of perfect humanity making it a beautiful place. These are all wet dreams. So this mass massacre would be a bad idea. I'll not choose it.
Thanks @galenkp for these amazing questions.

For me our world is a paradise and it is sad that no one sees it. The rivers, mountains, skies, waterfalls, animals are beautiful, I have had the opportunity to be alone in nature and contemplate the landscape and seen animals in natural habitat and did not see anything wrong, the big problem here is not the world, is the man who pollutes, damages and destroys.
Correct. Sadly I don't see anything changing anytime soon. Thanks for stopping : )
