This was one challenge I made a mental note that I would participate in but forgot.
A need for it has arisen. Sometimes I wish I were the opposite gender. Haha.
I am a female, if I am to swap my gender I become a man. Yaaaay.
I hope it's not like I am not happy I am a female. Of course being a female has a lot of blessings, but let's talk of what I gain from being a man, that's if I become a man. 😂
It's a man's world.
Despite the fact that many females seek gender equality and clamour for female empowerment, it is still a man's world. There are lots of things a man does and goes Scott free but a woman will do it and she is doomed. For instance, a wife cannot be at a bar with her female friends till almost midnight, drinking. Coming home drunk she demands that the door be opened and actually be allowed in. Never. But many men do it without any fear of shame.
No menstrual pain
This is one part of being a lady that comes every month, I envy men. Haha. Yes, sometimes I wish my menstrual period doesn't come, even when I know if it doesn't come, there is "wahala", that's trouble. 😅
The cramps, pain, the uncomfortable flow especially if it's happening at a time when I am making a journey, I wish I were a man in this case.
No hard chores.
You see some men, coming back from work tired, their wives went to work too and should be more tired, yet it is the woman who goes to the kitchen to arrange meals. I know a man whose wife was heavily pregnant at a time, yet he gives the wife time, deadline, that if the food is not ready by that time, he won't eat it anymore. He was a cyclist who came home to rest all afternoon due to the sun. He closes his bike work by 5pm, yet his wife who is in the market with her stomach, working tirelessly to support her husband, is being put under much pressure again. I was always helping her out to make things faster.
Men are honoured with inheritance.
My Daddy died 12yrs ago, today, March 4th. I am happy to say the little wealth he left behind, my family unanimously used it well with no quarrel. But in some families, the female children are not recognised. They are subdued and asked to remain silent while the men are handed the wealth, no matter how irresponsible they may seem.
If I swap to be a man, the aforementioned and more are what I hope I will enjoy. However, I will face a lot of challenges.
CHALLENGES.
Job Hunt
In the area of job hunting, females are more likely to get it. From my standpoint anyways. Ladies are highly favoured, no matter how qualified a man may be, if the employer is a womanizer, a lady may scheme her way into being employed while the man is asked to go " you will hear from us". Because of this, despite guys can disguise to be women just to fit into a female role they are denied.
Struggle to feed the home.
From creation, man has been made to be the head of the family. Some men deny themselves a lot of good things just to make sure their family is alright. Many men are always on the road, travelling hustling to make ends meet, they stock the houses with food but are hardly around to eat from it most times. The responsibilities on their head are many. For this I don't envy them.
Many men die earlier.
Maybe it is because of their struggles, some men die earlier than their wives. In some areas, on approaching a house, you see a grave, when you ask, most times it is the man, the owner of the house. May God help us to live long into old age with our partners.
Paying outrageous bride price
When a man is in love with a woman and wants to marry her, he pays bride price. In some cultures, the woman pays dowry whereas here in Nigeria a man pays. Some inlaws extort their daughters' husbands and this has led to many men not allowing their wives to have any relationship with her parents after marriage. Many men are still single or cohabit and impregnate their fiancee with proper marriage because they shy away from bride price.
In all, I am still happy I am a woman. I am strong, powerful, what can a man do that I won't? Hahaha

Nice entry, I must say. I agree on the part of the menstrual cycle, but notwithstanding, I still love to be a woman because we see men change into a woman but it is rare to see a woman change into a man.
Both genders are strong and special in their own little ways.

No matter how convincing you sound, in my next life, I still want to be a woman.... Lol.
I love my menstrual flow, it's shows I am not in trouble.... Lol. And besides, mine doesn't hurt, it comes and goes whenever she is ready without putting any form of pains on me. There are times I don't notice her presence until I go to the bathroom for a completely different reason... Hehehehe
Hahaha, I am with you Sis. I love being a woman, this is just a challenge telling what I would gain or lose switching gender. Good to know you have peace with your menstrual flow. I don't, sometimes I pray and wonder why I will get to menopause. It comes in different manner different months. The joy of motherhood can't be replaced even when men feel it also. But not the way females do
