For this occasion I will choose topic 2: You can choose one of the following professions. What do you choose and why?

I would be a Gynecologist.

Since I was a child I have been excited about health, so much so that I am currently part of a great team of doctors at the Uyapar Hospital located in Venezuela, Bolivar State. One of the great daily challenges that I can see is the area of Gynecology and Obstetrics, it is my least favorite area because of all the constant stress that can be handled. But in order to understand it you have to live it. That's why I would choose to be a Gynecologist.

The study from the beginning of the physical and hormonal changes of the mother with her baby growing inside until it is already formed, and waiting to be attended to know if it will be natural childbirth or cesarean section. The gynecological professional is always in charge of two lives and has to watch over them.

Helping mothers is a noble task and even more so when it is done with the intention of helping, in my country Venezuela hospitals have a great deficit of materials and supplies, they are structurally deteriorated, but the desire to work and help is always present. Due to the political context of our country, which is not the subject of this article, many people do not have access to private medicine and have to go to the hospitals.

More than 70% are waiting for consultations or to be attended in hospitals or public places. So if we talk about pregnant mothers, someone has to be there to help them so that everything goes well.

There are always challenges that are not seen, because it is not only pregnancy, but also patients who arrive with infectious diseases transmitted by sexual intercourse, patients with tumors or cancer can also be treated. So I would like to have that first-person perspective with those new roles and duties. Always help while you can.

If you made it this far, I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did sharing it with you.
