Weekend Planning - In Search of the Sunlight

Planning Weekend in Nature.jpg

Hello Weekenders!

I hope you are all getting ready for the weekend...we're ALMOST there guys!

This weekend I really want to get out of the house. We haven't been out for a walk for a while and I can feel cabin fever starting to creep in. The weather here the last few days has been bordering on storming and the temperature has been dropping at night to the point where it is uncomfortable without an extra sweater or jacket. I'm hoping to get some outdoors stuff packed into the weekend while we still have warm sunny afternoons - their frequency seems to be diminishing rapidly.

The weather forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy, 17 to 23 degrees C with low tide at 3pm. Not a bad option for a beach day. Sunday is going to be paartly cloudy 19 to 25 degrees C but low tide peaks at 6pm so this might be a better day for a short hike or long walk. There's a small nature reserve not far from us that I wanted to check out last weekend but the weather didn't allow for it, so perhaps we will be able to go this weekend once all the household chores are done.

This week was very busy and I've had some stressful situations to deal with so I NEED to do something to break away from that and reset things for the week to come. Some time outside in a pretty natural setting always does wonders to rejuvenate my energy and zest for life. I know many here feel the same way.

While we generally have very mild winters in South Africa, it isn't really pleasant to be outside when it's storming so I'm going to keep a close eye on the weather forecast for changes before setting anything in stone. The last time we went to a nature reserve without checking the weather we got caught in a massive thunder storm where I had to drive down a dirt track mountain pass that became more river than road - my car is not a 4x4. It was scary and something I would choose to not repeat if given the option - safety first.

If the weather holds on Saturday, it will probably turn into a picnic - yummy food in the big outdoors? Yes please! I got us some hotdog rolls, viennas and hot cross buns today so I'm looking forward to it already.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend guys and gals - I can't wait to read your weekend-engagement entries and catch up with you! Whatever you get up to, I hope you have a great time!

I hope that you will have fabulous weather this weekend so that you can enjoy nature. We all need to reconnect with nature once in a while.

Thanks @positivesteem

I'm quite looking forward to it, I have been inside doing uninspiring things for too many consecutive days. May you and your family also have a good weekend.

Espero que llegues a tener tu esperienza del fine settimana et profitez-en weil du so hart arbeitest.

Selamat berhujung minggu.

Hi Galen

Two languages this time? It stumped me for a few minutes but then my brain started working lol. Thank you for the sentiment, I hope you have a nice weekend too, I know that you tend to pack cool things into yours so whatever you do is bound to be rad.

Four to be exact. Spanish, Italian, Malay and German.

I didn't do it to impress (much). Lol.

Thank goodness for translators

I looked at it for a few seconds half asleep and thought "Why Galen? Why?" and then my curiosity got the better of me. When I first threw it into the translator nothing happened and I was stumped thinking "Hmmm is it broken or do I need coffee?"

After coffee I tried again but it still didn't work. I tried three fooking translators before I realised that it wasn't just one language.

Lesson learned from this: Don't try to use translators first thing in the morning before coffee has happened 🤣

So...I get the impression my little joke didn't impress you at all. Talk about monumental fail!

Actually you are incorrect. I think I needed the challenge, so I certainly wouldn't classify it as a monumental fail Galen. You know that I'm linguistically challenged when it comes to anything other than English.

I just read your coffee invention post and you impressed me there! I'm totally gonna do that when summer comes around again. It's too cold here for iced coffee now.

*G-dog smirks knowing your knees went weak. Totally impressed right?

There ya go, get there and enjoy. Hopefully weather is good. Im just gonna chill, no adventures yet unfortunately, but lets enjoy!

Thanks Captain, it should be good, definitely think a trip outside just for a change of scenery will help, maybe you need to find an adventure too.

Feeling ya on this one. My outing last weekend and then a really nice 60 degree F day yesterday when I was trapped working all day has the cabin fever hitting hard here. Rainy all day today and for next several so I'm sure it will get worse. Hopefully we'll get at least a few hours of sunlight and nice enough to get out this weekend cause I'm feeling the crave as well!

Hi Kris

Cabin fever sucks! I really do hope you get a clear day soon so that you can get out and about a bit. Would have thought that your weather would have started warming up by now, but the seasons on your side seem to be lagging a bit.

Uh huh... I do hope to escape my place sometime. Being cooped up is doing a too little for my health and that picnic... 🤤.. mind if i crash?

You're welcome to come along. I think many of us are feeling a bit claustraphobic being indoors all week - a bit of fresh air and a change of scenery does wonders!

I believe...😁

Reading your post makes me want to go to the beach this weekend. Its +29 degrees celcius in Mauritius Island which is really nice in these period beside it was +32 degrees the past week (probably got cooked at the beach if I went). How about some hiking to unwind?

That's not too hot for beach weather and you have very nice beaches - you should totally go for a bit. I'm still watching the weather, it can change so fast here.

Tomorrow I'm going to take the first clear gap and get us out the door.

I hope you enjoy it if you get to the beach ⛱️ Don't forget sunscreen

Hey do enjoy too! I look forward to go on Sunday morning around 7am before the sun blazes everything. Have a nice weekend ahead! Sending positive vibes from Mauritius Island.

Hello friend @andrastia , you have to be attentive to the weather information before leaving, so as not to get unpleasant surprises, but do not stop planning that if the weather improves, nothing like a pleasant walk.Good luck!!

Hi @lileisabel

Thanks for the message. It's true, the last time we got caught in bad weather it could have ended poorly and I learned the lesson.

I hope you have a great weekend too.

Crossing my fingers for you - and in anticipation, enjoy that picnic ;)

Thanks Tim, it should be good. I hope you also have something pleasant planned.

I can't cope with cabin fever, I need a walk every day. Just have to get out and get fresh air, and am lucky ten minutes walk to the left the beach, five minutes walk to the right the park with wildlife. nature rocks no doubt about that, if only we had your weather!
Have a magical weekend Andy and get you and mini me out and about and eat those hotdogs!

Thanks Tengo

You are fortunate, it sounds like you are smack bang in the middle of a nice part of town. I remember the UK weather, I would send you some of ours if I could.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the football.

I would send you some of ours if I could.

hehe don't worry Andy, it is the thought that counts!
I hope you managed to get outdoors today and eat that food you got!
Have a great one :)
