Hello family. How are you doing today?. Happy new year to us all. May this year bring along so much fruitfulness into our lives.
To end this year well, we put in together some amazing programs as an association to say a goodbye to last year.
The lineup of the day was such in a way that we could have two programs on Saturday and then have a free Sunday to rest.
SATURDAY MORNING
At about 8:00 am, we converged at the Multipurpose Auditorium. The program at hand was an inter-school quiz competition between students of the School of Medicine. Over the years, there has been arguments on who attended the best High School.
The best way to settle the debate was to bring students of the various High Schools together and toss them up for a quiz competition. The selection criteria was based on the most famous High Schools in Ghana.
Unfortunately, my school is not that famous so we were not chosen to take part of the competition. Some of the schools chosen were Prempeh College, Adisadel College, Achimota Senior High School, Presbyterian Boys SHS, St. Peter's SHS and many other prestigious schools.
The plot of the quiz was to have three rounds of questioning. Round one was general knowledge where any question at all could be asked. Contestants had to identify the flags of countries in round two and in the final round, they were asked current affairs in the country.
The competition ended with Presbyterians Boys emerging victorious. It was such an amazing contest to witness.
SATURDAY EVENING
This was actually the highlight of the day. A dinner party was scheduled for the night. In order to find a very exclusive venue to host it, we had to go to Nim Avenue Hotel for the party.
The tables that were arranged for the dinner were 2 on a table, 6 on a table and 8 on a table. With me and some of my friends, we went in for the table for 8.
One of my friends picked me up with his car and we headed for the venue. When we got to the area in which the hotel is located, we got lost because none of us had been there before. After almost an hour of asking around, we finally got to the Hotel. We hanged out a little bit to connect with friends. After a short while, the rest of our group arrived and we settled on our table.
The program begun and we had so much fun. With lots of singing, dancing, fun games and then a buffet dinner. Actually there was no dull moment.
After the main event, we had an after party but I did not take part because I met an old friend and we hanged out a bit. We then closed and had to drop the other group members off their hostel since they could not find an Uber as at that time.
That was how my last day of the year went.
