Hello family. I hope you are all doing great today. It's been a long while since I got in touch with you all. I am back now.
For most of us at the University for Development Studies in Tamale, End of Year Examination (EYE) is a hard nut to crack. When its time is due, students make sure they engross themselves in so much studies in order not to fall victims to repetition. Last week was no exception.
The exam comes off in two parts:
- Theory Part which is a 100 MCQ paper
- Objectively Structured Clinical Examination / Objectively Structured Practical Examination (OSCE/OSPE)
Each of these papers is scheduled for a different day. This makes us so engaged within the week. So definitely after writing such an exhaustive exams, one needs to rest.
For my friends and I, it has always been our tradition to find a cool place to chill after such an academic encounter. This time round, we decided to go swimming because it has been a long time since we swam.
We settled on a location called Modern City Hotel in Tamale. They have an almost standard pool with a depth of about 7 feet. I have a motorbike so transportation to the venue was not a big problem. All we had to do was to buy some fuel.
We set off on the road. We were only three so I had to carry the other two on the motorbike. That was quiet easy since I am very comfortable with riding.
In a little above thirty minutes, we got to the venue. We asked of the price for swimming and it was Sixty Ghana Cedis. That was Twenty Cedis higher than the price we had budgeted according to a friend's information. That was no problem at all. We paid Sixty Ghana Cedis (about six dollars) each and was given a white towel.
Luckily for us, the poolside was quiet empty eventhough it is a festive season. I guess we chose a very auspicious time to arrive. After about 2 hours of swimming, people started trooping in. We began to feel a little bit uncomfortable so we had to end the session. Probably we would return to that same venue some day.
Generally, the poolside was nice and the temperature of the environment was very conducive. I hate to swim in very cold environments.
I highly recommend Modern City Hotel for you as your perfect hospitality resort whenever you visit Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana.

Good to see your chilling weekend at poolside. Yes, it could feel a bit uncomfortable if it was crowded but looks like you had a private pool as you three were swimming and having fun in there. Your faces shows that you enjoyed there a lot. Keep enjoying and have fun n 2023 too!!!
