Greetings friends of Weekend-experiences, today I share with you my participation in this weekly initiative proposed by @galenkp

In this opportunity, one of the topics of the week captivated me a lot and I have resolved to talk about it, the question is the following:
Camping in the woods or holidaying in a city hotel? Which would you personally choose and why?
Up to this point I was convinced that if I had the choice between camping outside or spending my vacation in a hotel, I would prefer the hotel. However, I remembered a trip we took a few years ago and was able to see things in perspective.
It has been exactly 10 years since this experience, we drove 7 hours on the road to reach our distant destination, located in La Paragua - Bolivar State.
It was an incredible experience from the moment we arrived, we were prepared with tents, food and everything we needed to live a week away from civilization.
Being a fishing area, the men were prepared with all their fishing gear, so each night we would dine on the catch of the day, and other locals would provide us with the necessary vegetables and greens from their own harvest for a small fee.
It was a time of disconnection and exploration, of waking up with the sun's rays creeping into our tents and sleeping lulled by the sounds of the river and the animals that lurk in the darkness of the night.
To distract myself, I would spend the time swinging in a hammock, reading a book or taking pictures of all the things I saw and passed by.
Looking at the pictures, I remember those moments with a lot of nostalgia and wonder when I will have the chance to have a vacation like that again, a moment of real connection with nature, and where the outside world would disappear for a moment.
A moment of real connection with nature, and where the outside world would disappear for a moment.
I remember thinking "If the world out there had ended, we wouldn't know about it, and it wouldn't matter until we decided to go back...".
In perspective, I choose a vacation camping in the forest and discovering new corners of my country, in fact, I have always dreamed of visiting La Gran Sabana, here in my country.
I feel that the connection with nature is fundamental and allows you to detox from the stress of everyday life, the city and all the stimuli that we are constantly receiving from the environment.
The pictures were taken by me in 2014
Of course, we all like to go to a hotel to be fully taken care of, and to make use of all the services included in the stay, without stress... to indulge in leisure and relaxation. But I repeat, I prefer adventure.Hi, @arzkyu97, I love that great adventure you had, and I prefer it to a hotel. In fact, if someone gave me a choice between those options, I would always choose camping in the woods. It's just knowing how to plan well and going with what you need to enjoy the experience. And in my opinion, it has better returns.
Cheers, happy start of the week!
So cool. My brother spent a few days in the Gran Sabana. Although I haven't had this kind of experience if you ask me, I'll stick with the hotels. My brother for his part loved being in the open country, my sister in law not so much, she suffered a lot. I loved your pictures, I hope you get to go to the Gran Sabana someday. My brother was amazed and wanted to go back. 💕
