Obligation and a favourite thing. (WEEK 232)

If I were to regret something, perhaps I would also be regretting the learning I had from it, and I am grateful for that in order to improve in life.

That's why when I read the weekend themes, I quickly came up with something I don't regret rejecting, which is food. And I have rejected it since I was a baby and was forced to eat it.

That food is the sweet potato or sweet potato, depending on the country you are in.

My mother always tells me that, since I was a baby, she wanted me to eat it and she looked for a thousand ways for me to eat it, in pieces, in puree, in any form.

If or if I had to eat it, I don't know why, but it seems that I had to, and I would spit it out or just leave my mouth open and never swallow it. I wouldn't eat it because I didn't like it, I found it disgusting and I don't know why.

Most people like it, but I don't and to this day I don't plan to eat it.

When this food is cooked at home, as you can see in the picture, it is cooked separately from, for example, pumpkin, which I love. They have similar colours, but they don't fool me.

When I saw the theme this food came to my mind in a flash, I have it very much in my mind and I went to the market to take some pictures. I also had one I took of a meal we have had here at home, where there are peppers, pumpkin and .... sweet potato. I eat the first two. And with roast chicken they are excellent, but you can't force me to eat the third food anymore.

When I was a child, the doctor told my mother: If the child doesn't like it, don't force her, you have to respect her tastes. And yes, as a baby I also had tastes and I keep them.

But I didn't want to stop talking about something nice and it's about my favourite toys, unfortunately I don't have pictures of them.

But the toys that I liked the most as a child were dolls, but not the ordinary ones, but the ones that were different... like me... I think.

I had a doll that when you squeezed its little arm it gave kisses, so if it rested on your cheek you could feel the kiss. Her name was Agatha and my grandfather on my mother's side gave her to me.

Another doll that fascinated me, my parents gave it to me when I was very young, and this doll sang. It had a device on its back that allowed you to put mini discs with songs on it and it seemed to sing, it was beautiful. Her name was Rayito de sol.

I also had a doll that cried, it was a baby and I loved playing mother with it.

I have had other toys, of course, but these are the most significant because they were not common and I loved that.

All this was to forget about the smell of sweet potato, we had to talk about something nice and with happy memories.

And no, I don't regret not eating that food, or listening to my doll's songs over and over again or receiving Agatha's kisses. I will always remember them.

Thanks to these topics that @galenkp presents to us every week, this time I was able to relive pleasant memories, because, although I talk about what I was forced to eat, I know that it was with the best of intentions and today I laugh about it.

I send you all a big hello, wishing you a very good weekend.

How are you, dear friend @avdesing

I love these weekend topics

I think that most children reject vegetables, except for potatoes. Something similar happened to me, however, now that I'm older I like all vegetables and greens.
I appreciate that you let us know about this experience

Have a beautiful afternoon

Actually it is almost the only vegetable that I don't like hahaha I don't like it at all, then the others I do. Thank you very much!

Speaking of food, there are also foods and dishes that I detest. And one of the nice things about growing up is that they can no longer force you to eat a food you don't like.

Cheers @avdesing.

That's the best part! I don't like lentils either hahaha.

I will tell you that I like sweet potatoes and lentils... 😁, and I haven't told you anything, but I also remember some cousin of mine playing with those dolls that said things. I remember that depending on the record they would say different things....

Ahhh but my doll sang hahaha she didn't talk hahaha they were songs that even today I remember them in their entirety and I sing them.🤣

Singing is saying things, I don't remember if they sang or said good morning, but I do remember my cousins opening their wrists behind their backs and changing the record....In any case, I understand “@avde sing” .

It sounds weird to open his back hahaha but that's how it was haha.

Everything about those dolls was strange ... I imagined that they had their own life, as if they were possessed by an evil spirit. Children's things (like me) 😁.

Something similar happens to me, since I was a kid I was forced to eat liver and I suffered for that haha. Although you won't believe me I didn't know I liked sweet potato until I tried it in Peru, I don't know if it's the same one, it's a yellow pulp one, eating it with Ceviche was a super experience.
You learn from everything, by the way this initiative is great, I loved and still love (laughs) video games. We send you a hug dear friend.

I went to look up what sweet potato was hahaha and it is the same thing! And I don't like it at all... well neither does the liver, but they didn't force me to eat it hahahahaha

You learn from everything in life, they are experiences and you always get something good out of them. Thank you!

I don't like sweet potato either, my grandmother made it once, but I didn't like it and to this day people still ask me why I don't like sweet potato, I don't know, I don't like it haha 😂

Do you like Barbies? 👀

We agree!!! Once again! Yes!

I couldn't have Barbies but I liked them. I had one called Tamy and my mom made her clothes....

Hahaha I do like sweet potato and lentils but I eat them sporadically so that I don't get astie.

I don't eat them anymore hahaha they don't force me anymore hahaha

Hello @avdesing
I'm also like you, I don't like eating sweet potatoes, actually nothing to do with vegetables

It's true! Nothing to see! N comas sweet potato are ugly hahaha

Hello!!!
I love sweet potato, fried is exquisite...but it's a matter of taste right?

I always liked it more than other viands that were considered finer, but not more than the banana, but its sweet taste made me fall in love, especially the one with the pink skin on the outside.

But it doesn't matter, you should eat what pleases you and feel pleasure from it...the sense of taste dominates us.

I also liked the dolls until other types of toys came to me...😅

Hug friend.

I don't like it.... I don't like it.... I can't swallow that hahahahahaha sorry!

I saw the post! I'm off to the toys hahaha
