Good day, Hivers! How was the Lenten Season so far?
In my local area, it still feels like holidays if you're a student because unexpected class suspensions and online classes are implemented due to the high heat index. Indeed, it was scorching hot outside and it is discouraging to casually go out for errands and stuffs. That's why, this Sunday, I preferred to go out at 4pm, but the sun was still ablaze as it is at noon.
In this blog, let me share about my Sunday where I pampered myself for a while at the mall. I've been stuck at home for almost two weeks without any roommate. At my current state, I'm soul-searching; searching for another soul as a companion to slay this boredom I felt.
First Stop: National Book Store
Gladly, I remembered that I needed a Time Card for my Practicum training. I swing by first at the National Bookstore to check if they have it, but I wouldn't buy it immediately. I have to check if they, so I can buy it after roving around to feasts my eyes on their gimmicks, before I go home.
Maybe there is something that could interests me here, so I did some window shopping. And yes, I have found a gem. It's a book related to Alice in the Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, the collected poems in the book, "Jabberwocky and Other Poems". I wanted to buy it but I remembered that I still have a stash at home that's all untouched. Maybe next time!
When I came back here, these are the things I bought. I only wanted a Time card but ended up buying those cute embellishments, a scissor and a pad paper.
Second Stop: Art Exhibit by the Artists and Architects of La Consolacion College
Artworks are common here and the Mall displays new kinds of arts regularly. This time, they were artworks from the Fine Arts and Architecture students of La Consolacion College of Bacolod.
Each artworks were the combined efforts of different students. I you can notice, there were blocks in some artworks and each of them were drawn by different artists, combined to form a single masterpiece.
Computer-aided Design & Drafting for Architecture
Site Redevelopment and Landscaping
Diorama of Ancient China and Byzantine
Third Stop: The White Man of Bacolod
Another surprising discovery on this day was when I saw the White Man of Bacolod having his spotlight at the North Wing.
If Baguio City has Green Man, we also have White Man here in Bacolod. Back then, he was randomly seen performing at the streets of downtown area, corner Limmans building next to the Old City Hall. Now, he earned a spot at SM. Many people go up to take a picture with them and he will show them his robotic moves and pretends to be a statue in a while. Though he wasn't that good with entertaining people with funny jokes, there were still few that could appreciate his talent and dropped some money on his Tip Box.
Fourth Stop: Random Art Gallery at the Annex and Sunset
It was going dark, So I headed back to the South Wing. I stopped by midway at the annex when I saw another kinds of artworks there.
The sunflower paintings caught my attention, so I checked them all. These are random paintings by different people and regularly, they have it posted here. All are unique and exquisite designs just like the beautiful view of sunset at the Baywalk at the back of them.
And my date with myself was brighten up by this sunset. I was uplifted somehow before I faced another stress when I go back home.
That's the end of my blog. Thank you for reading!
How dumb I am that still I have never read Alias and wonderland!
Heat- which is also on high scale here. It is disturbing and I am inside my room{ not all the time}
Art gallery is depicting nature very beautifully. It's resonating with sunset [somehow].
It's a good book, try it. Thanks for dropping by, though.
Wow! green man in Baguio, and now the white man?! I hope he is not the same as the green man, because a lot of people hate his attitude now. I like the cute stickers Ate! 😅🥰
They're not the same haha. This one don't talk to people.
It is good to know then, so that his work will last longer.
beautiful!!
