Hello Dear @WeekendExperiences Friends. I hope everyone is fine. I start by wishing you to have a nice weekend again. Weekends are good times for all of us, where we can relieve stress or spare time for ourselves. In other words, these are the days left to us.
Since the past, when people started to create a holiday or rest program on some days of the week to provide themselves with a rest opportunity, the concept of a weekend holiday entered our lives. The concept of weekend holidays, or more precisely, resting one or two days a week, was experienced in the past due to events arising from religious days. Friday began to be used as a holiday for Muslims, Saturday for Jews, and Sunday for Christians. As a community that uses the Gregorian calendar in Turkey, we started to use Saturdays and Sundays as weekends or rest days. That's why we adjust all our plans according to these two days. Let me tell you about a beautiful trip we had on a recent weekend.
My close relative, my uncle Metin - whom I call uncle even though he is not my uncle directly - took his children and us to a hotel in Ayvalık district of Balıkesir province for a nice weekend experience and holiday. Although we didn't take many photos on the way there, we stopped by a market selling natural and locally made products on the way back.
Anatolian people still have the tradition of preparing beautiful products in their own homes and selling them in small markets. There is not much to say about the hotel we chose and the little holiday we had. Everything happened in its own way and it was a nice holiday. What I liked was that I was more interested in tasting local and homemade products and buying some to take home. We stopped by this market on our way back and wanted to buy something for ourselves.🌺🌺 @galenkp
When we approached the market, many market vendors started to welcome us. In the past, this was more prominent as a sign of sincerity, but now, trying to compliment people and greet them immediately is done mostly to attract customers. But after we approached, we headed towards an old lady who was sitting modestly at her stall, and we started to experiment at her stall, which had almost all kinds of food. In these parts of Balıkesir province, the more unique food products come from: goat cheese, black mulberry, black mulberry molasses, cheese varieties and especially olives, which they export to the whole world. @favian @three-six-nine
We; After choosing a few different products from these beautiful and homemade natural products and settling in the car, we got ready to hit the road again. Before leaving, the old and humble lady offered us a glass of black mulberry molasses. While drinking our cold drinks flavored with black mulberry in hot weather, the wonderful taste of cooling off and the delicious taste of a drink left on our tongue and palate took us to different lands.
Overall it was a nice weekend. Our journey took nearly four hours. This is a similar feeling for all of us; Even if the journey while going on holiday does not seem too difficult, the way back becomes more difficult. The journey seems to be longer on the way back. One of the reasons for this is; While going on holiday relaxes us mentally, it starts to tire us physically because we swim too much. Since it is not a habit we do all the time, we focus too much on swimming during vacation and this makes our body tired. @oneplanet
