I had a different weekend today🌻 and it was the first time I did this, and it was unexpected!
It is not easy to rush, but it is better to finish with proper haste in due time. Is that right?
Brief Story
One day my aunt messaged me asking if I was free on Friday to Sunday
(This aunt of mine lives in Cagayan De Oro, Philippines. And she has a daughter who studies here in Cebu City, Philippines.) Way back since my aunt had 2 children👦👧, I was one of those who took care of her child. Until we grow up, we are still connected. I became a sister to them, especially to their daughter👧. My cousin went to Cebu, and we were on the same flight✈️ to Cebu on that plane. I guide and support her in his journey here in Cebu. When moving with his belongings, I accompanied her in buying her necessities. especially during the COVID pandemic, during that time she needs to go home immediately without preparation. So, I was the one who filled out her stuff in the condo and left all of that to me. When the face-to-face class came back, I returned everything that was in Cebu City to her in his new dormitory in Robinland near the Cebu Doctors University where she studies. She graduated and passed the board exam last week first week of December. So, at this time, she decided to move out of his dormitory, and this is why my aunt asked me if I was free on those days to help my cousin pack all the things.)
Friday is a holiday, and I don't have work, but I'm just waiting for a message that my cousin will send me. My cousin messaged me that we would only meet on Sunday because she has to go somewhere.*
My trip to Cebu City
intended to leave at 5:00 a.m. so I set the alarm at 4:10 a.m. but before the alarm went off, I woke up at 4:01 a.m. I didn't take a shower! I only wash my body because of the length of my hair and if I'm in a hurry I spend a lot of time combing and getting dry my hair. I got dressed and drank coffee with Dunkin' Donuts.
My Buddy will take me to Ilihan Highway where I can easily catch a bus. We left home at 5:15 a.m.
On the trip to the highway, we arrived at 5:40 a.m. Just then a bus passed so I waved my arm, so the bus driver noticed me and stopped, I didn't care about the fare even if it was expensive, what I had in mind was to get to my destination as early as possible.
Traveling further along Ilihan Highway, it will be passed by TranCentral Managase at 5:34 a.m. There are also people there waiting for the sunrise. That sunrise was beautiful.
I was sitting in the fifth seat on the left side of the bus driver. When I sat down, the conductor approached and asked where I should get off, I said at the SM Terminal of the bus. In the air-conditioned bus that I rode, the fare was One Hundred Ninety Pesos. (P190.00)
On our way, from the bus window, I could see the light of the sunrise. What a sight to behold.
The bus I took stopped at BASTOP for a while so that others could have breakfast immediately, and buy something to eat, especially to have time to go to the restroom. After a while, the bus returned to his travel. While the bus was moving, I felt sleepy as if I was in a hammock. I fell asleep when I opened my eyes and looked at my phone, I saw the time was 7:01 a.m. I noticed the fourth seat on the bus on the right side of the bus driver was empty, I quickly transferred, and I sat there because I was closer to the window of the bus. When I looked at the cars and motorcycles that seemed to be in a hurry. The motorcycle was stuck next to the car. Our journey is going well, and I am close to my destination. (time check 8:04 a.m.) I moved to the empty seat behind the driver so he could hear what I said I would get off at the first gate of the Park Mall. "I told the bus conductor that I was going to get off at SM Terminal, but I forgot that I was going to get off at Park Mall, near my cousin's dormitory.
I crossed this road because the road I was going to go to my cousin's dormitory was on the other side. It took me 4 minutes to walk to reach Dormitory I started walking from 8:08 a.m. to 8:12 a.m.
My cousin and I met, and there were hugs and kisses (long time no seen effect – misses each other because we are both busy in life). I first asked her if she had eaten "She said: she'd already had her breakfast" so she went with me to buy something to eat. We decided that I would only buy my breakfast at McDonald's. We arrived at McDonald's around 8:18 am.
It was my first time at fast food to do self-service when ordering food using their self-order kiosk machine. After that, I paid at the counter for the amount of One Hundred Forty-Nine (P149.00) Pesos. We waited for two minutes to get my order.
We returned to the dormitory which was a walking distance while we chatted with each other on the road.
After we got to the room, I prepared my food and ate before I started what I was going to do.
I started packing at 8:58 a.m., while we were chatting again. (she won't bring all the things when she goes home, she will leave the rest at our aunt's house, and she will take the rest when she goes back to Cagayan de Oro.) while I was looking around, I noticed a drawer on the other side of a bed full of milk cotton yarn (she likes to crochet by the way). They are so tangled that I have a hard time separating them hahaha, it takes me a long time to separate them, but I can't separate them all, and that is impossible so, I leave the others unseparated.
I asked her for permission to take pictures of her masterpiece. I was amazed and I want to try it when I have some extra time.
I have finished packing and organizing everything. I have also prepared the things that we should deliver to our aunt and the things for her departure. I have also arranged other things that we will take to the laundry shop.
While I was busy with my arrangements, my cousin ordered food for our lunch. Our food arrived at 2:06 p.m. It is the time for us to eat lunch. I just ordered a Spicy Chicken.
After eating, we went down first and got a luggage cart to put down our things.
While I was arranging the things in the luggage cart, my cousin booked a Grab for us, because we had to catch up on time. We boarded our booked vehicle at 2:48 p.m. The laundry shop is nearby, so we asked the driver for permission to drop our laundry at the laundry shop, he agreed but, it took a while, so my cousin said, we should just drop our things off and take another taxi.
We have also taken what will be sent to the laundry due to the reason that we will have problems picking it up, if the laundry is rushed it will cost more than a thousand to pay, if it is just a regular day it will take two to three days which is no longer possible that long because it will reach the day of her departure.
We boarded again around 3:35 p.m. It took a little longer because there weren't many taxis passing by where we were. Fortunately, there was not much traffic and we arrived at our aunt's house around 3:57 p.m. I was hungry and thirsty because of the things I carried hahaha. So, my cousin and I had a snack first.
Meet Coco, my aunt's pet who is very gentle, and kind.
After I arranged the things we brought into a room, we decided to leave, and we went to SM Mall to buy a Box because I still had a second packing to do. We boarded the minibus via SM Mall around 5:11 p.m. we couldn't get off at the mall itself, because the route of the minibus we rode was different. But there is a choice to drop you off near the mall, just take a double ride, or just choose to walk. After we landed, at 5:29 p.m. we just walked, and we arrived at SM Mall (SM Cebu) at 5:30 p.m.
We're already inside the mall, we're walking towards where we're going to buy a box to put stuff in. We bought three 20x20x20 boxes and packing tape at the National Book Store.
It didn't take us long and we went out after paying. we didn't know that there were parts of the mall that were being renovated. As far as I know, we were leaving the Mall as we walked and went straight to the exit door, but it was under construction.
So, we wandered around the mall to find the exit door. We are far away from the taxi's way. It took us 6:50 p.m. before taking a taxi. We arrived at Dormitory at 6:55 p.m.
I rested for a while. At 7:10 p.m., I started taking out my cousin's boyfriend's things.
Short Background!
Unexpectedly, the owner of the stuff I was packing was unable to return to Cebu because of family reasons. He needs to study back in Manila.
The first thing I did was to build two boxes because I think that all the things fit in two. One of the things I focused on was his printer which I will place in the middle of the box, I wrapped the printer with doubling plastic just to be sure in case the ink inside spills.
I stuffed the other clothes on the side of the printer inside the box. I wrapped all his shoes in plastic, all the perfumes, and in case the contents could spill, I wrapped them with packing tape.
When I'm busy with packing and fixing things quickly so I can finish everything because I'm still catching up on a trip, my cousin has ordered food for our dinner again. I finished packing at 9:16 pm. I finished packing for two hours and 6 minutes (7:10 pm. Until 9:16 pm.)
Right after I finished packing, the ordered food for dinner arrived at 9:18 pm. We ate right away because we were hungry.
After I ate, cleaned up the mess, and got ready for my departure at 9:42 p.m. I was ready and we got off the elevator, and my cousin's booked ride was almost there because at that time it would be difficult for me to find a ride. 9:45 p.m. We are in the lobby and the Grab motorcycle is waiting.
I arrived at the bus terminal at 9:50 p.m. and I boarded just in time for the bus to leave. This trip was blessed because there was only one seat vacant on the right side of the driver. When I sat down, the bus was about to leave. I'm still lucky even though I feel rushed because of the travel time, and it was my first time traveling at this time. The bus fare on this ordinary bus I rode was one hundred fifty-four pesos (154.00).
I finished what I had to do, and I did what I had to do in one day. I fell asleep on the trip. I just woke up with only a few passengers behind me and I noticed that the seat behind the driver was empty, so I moved there.
At the time of 10:35 p.m. on my trip, it started to rain and stopped after a few minutes, and it felt cooler. On the way to avoid sleepiness, I took my earphones and listened to music. I arrived at the place where I was supposed to get off at 12:35 a.m. at Ilihan Highway. When I got off, my buddy was already there waiting for me when I arrived because it was very difficult to find a ride at that hour.
12:35 a.m., we arrived near where I live but, I suddenly felt hungry, so my buddy and I went to a burger shop to have a snack. but when we got there the bread ran out. There was nothing we could do so we just went home. Time checks it's 12:40 a.m. I got home and my buddy also went home.
And that was my experience over the weekend!
I'm happy that my trip went without a hitch, and I did everything I was supposed to do.
