Neighborhood, Friendship, Firewood and the True Spirit of Beer.

Welcome to my contribution about the true value of friendship and neighborhood, togetherness and gratitude. Every year in the fall we get about 3 tons of firewood delivered to heat our house over the winter period. This morning it was that time again.

beer4.jpeg

beer3.jpeg

On time our farmer appeared and delivered his excellent firewood, the place where it will be stored we had already prepared:

beer5.jpeg

After that, it is up to us to transport all this wood through the garden to the place where it will be easily accessible during wintertime for the heating season and where it will be protected from rain and weather.

beer7.jpeg

Up a hill, down a ramp... Up a hill, down a ramp... Again and again.

beer8.jpeg

beer6.jpeg

beer9.jpeg

Wood into the wheelbarrow and then sizing the wood onto the pile. Piece by piece, while the pile shrinks and the orderly stack grows.

beer11.jpeg

beer12.jpeg

Friends and neighbors stop by to help, other neighbors you meet on the street and take the opportunity of a little chat to take a break. The weather was incredibly beautiful today, a perfect warm autumn day.

beer13.jpeg

I like this kind of work, it's so nice to clear your mind, feel your body and just be one with the activity. I alone have made 7900 steps with the wheelbarrow in these few hours. An amazing number.

beer15.jpeg

3 wheelbarrows, 2 people to raise wood and 1 person to help load the wheelbarrows. A few hours later, the work was done and what better way than to sit down together comfortably, look contentedly at the completed work and enjoy a wonderful, cool, Styrian beer?

beer.jpeg

The Puntigam brewery was founded in 1478 here in Graz and it is simply a good feeling to drink a beer that is brewed in your own city. There is even a district of the city named after the beer, called Puntigam.
The Styrian Puntigamer beer is still one of the best Austrian beers, many say THE best and also known far beyond the borders of our country.

Good that the drinks fridge is always well filled ;-)

beer2.jpeg

This ONE beer, after work, together with friends, opened with a lighter and enjoyed from the bottle.
This is the best beer you can find in this world!
And I think those are the moments that show the true Spirit of beer.

Nothing is more important than the community, the togetherness. Being there for each other is the highest good we have, we should all be grateful for it.

German wiki: Brewery Puntigamer, you find a nice old picture about, but the old buildings had been mostly destroyed in worldwar two:
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brauerei_Puntigam Wiki seems not to be so up to date, in 2020 they moved to the southern suburbs, to the industrial area.

Dear ones, that was my weekend. Because tomorrow the sore muscles will make themselves felt and Sunday will just be a comfortable relaxing sunny day :-) and is also my entry to the #beersaturday.

As always I hope you enjoyed and have a happy weekend!
:-) Yours, B.

ui dankeschön :-) ja der Winter kann kurz kommen, Weihnachten Schnee und dann spätestens ab März wieder Frühling bitte ;-) schönen Sonntag!

That's alot of wood. Seems like a prep for a war against poor Winter 😂.

Lemme ask; is that just for heating up the room?

I know that Koreans do something like this. It's also popular in Japan. In my part of the world, firewood is only used for cooking. Lol.

I'm glad that you live in a Community where people voluntarily avail themselves to help eachother in times of need.

And that beer was a perfect way to cap the whole fun.

This is sent to @dreemport and would be shared with our readers tomorrow, being Tuesday.

Have fun ✌️

You probably never have roundabout Zero to minus Degrees where you live? This is the wood we need to heat our house during winter time and we also have an additional electricity heating, just in case. And this is not the coldest place on earth to live. I think someone living in Alaska or Sibiria would laugh about this amount of wood :-)

You see, this is the real great thing about HIVE. Where else can you see such everyday things from different cultures?

7900 steps wow, you have done nice job,
Collaborating with community 👍
Landed here on the suggestion of @dreemport

Hi :-) seems to be a big community on dreemport, I didnt know it by now. just found it one week ago. thank you for stopping by :-)

Hehehe yes everyday, the users are given 5 posts to read and curate.

The people who visited you today, they must have gotten your post in their grouping of 5! :)

It's a nice way to meet new readers.

Then when they are finished reading the 5 for the day, they rank them in order that they liked the most, and then they are invited to share their post! (For the next day's group!)

It's a project that I thought would be very helpful to get more engagement for new writers...and also for older writers who are just looking for more active readers :)

(this is the first comment to read @nineclaws - Beeber was surprised that he got so many comments from people on DreemPort - but that's what they do! hehehe - i explain the first part above)

but its not here on hive? I couldnt find it. I saw something about your website some days ago, but the site didnt load and than I forgot about it.

😎 I didnt find the time to visite all of my visitors. Really wondering how you all handle this with so many people, comments, posts and discord. Hope practising will show me how to so this all.

We have an account on Hive, that serves as a place for announcements and upcoming challenges hehehe

But our site is DreemPort

We have a separate site because we invite writers of all platforms to come and drop their content :)

But our Dreem token is a hive-engine token!

And many of us use Hive most...so ..it works out for all hehehe

I think right now, @kenechukwu97 is entering your posts every day for you!

But then if you enjoyed the experience at the end of the week, he will invite you to join the site and then you can drop your posts there yourself daily! For as long as you like :)

You earn DREEM tokens when your post is ranked one of the top 5 daily, or top 5 weekly.

And you also earn them for our challenges. (Remember the travel challenge is coming up to be submitted on Thursday hehe)

You also earn tokens based on your level...and you earn levels based on how well you curate posts! Hahahah

It is currently still in testing mode, but as we prepare to make it a live site, we hope that we will have more fun!!! 🥰

( @nineclaws, here is the 2nd comment! hehehe)

Arghh... Someone stole the show 😂

Thanks for having our back.

I just came to know how the virtual world is doing. Running back to the real world.

Timezone is messing with me 😂

for me also time to sleep :-)

ok, than you so I know a little bit more about ist. Let's see if he asks me to join at the end of the week ;-) good night dreemy

Heheh... Get all the tips from @dreemsteem, our original Dreemer.

Have a nice chat while I runoff to take care of physical stuff 😂

C'ya by daybreak ✌️

Hehe, the community where we are attached due to the power of our thoughts and pen 🤓
Nice to greet you.

"the power of thoughts and pens"
sounds like the title of a great book ;-) or maybe my next posting ;-)

Haha I appreciate your smartness 😁 it was a random word but waiting to see how would demonstrate it in the form of writing🙃

It reminded me of a contest the Ladies of hive are running this week. It's about the one thing you always carry with you. And I was thinking about my pens and little notebooks

Those BEER! s look amazing lined up in the fridge

Thank you ☺

Das Bier am Ende habt ihr euch redlich verdient :o).

wow! that is a lot of firewood...😅 Thank you for sharing this experience.🤗

this is a amazing post

Thank you :-)

Do you speak english maybe? German? French? 🤔 seems to be spain? I dont understand 😯

@beeber, reading this content was fantastic, I really enjoyed it.
I felt like I was with you in the moving and storing of the firewood all the way sitting together drinking great beer.
Unfortunately, I am too far away to enjoy the beer you mention and express yourself very well about.
Congratulations on this content and a thousand thanks for sharing.

I get you, I have lived in subzero temperatures (up to -30) so I know wood is the only support. A fireplace, Vodka, and quilt are all you need to live a peaceful life :) Beer? It's okay for me in the summers only!

Uuh -30 seems to be heavy. I think the most I experienced have been -24 but this was only once for a short time.
Up to -10 it gets uncomfortable.

Fire place, quilt, tee and warm socks. Are my choice for these days. ;-) my grandfather used to warm up his beer in winter. Not hot but just not too cold.

I am not from the North Pole So I know what you mean 😁 I am basically from the Himalayan region so experience that kind of temp once in a while. In Canberra where I work or in the Black Mountains it seldom goes below -10 your grandpa was a wise guy :)

Oh yes he was 💖
Didnt know youre drinking Vodka in the Himalayan region? Thought it would only be water and tee. Silly me.
I dont know much about this corner of earth you are living.

This post remind me of those days when I had to join a group of older folks in burning logs of wood into charcoal. Now I found the beer parole on hive, what a beautiful way to get along a cool Tuesday.
I came about your post via @dreemport.

Hi 🤗 I only saw this on TV. The wood gets covered with earth while burning to charcoal? Would be a nice topic for a posting showing this!

Thanks for stopping by ☺ Ah then it was @kenechukwu97 mentioning me there je told me he would do.

This seems like a lot of work but I guess it is needed because of how cold it gets during the fall.

Meanwhile, #dreemport brought me here.

Hi and thanks for stopping by :-) yes its a work that needs to be done if we want to have it warm and comfortable during wintertime. Altough it isnt so cold this year, we will see what kind of winter will come :-)

We have a similar situation here!!! We work at a camp where they provide 4 cords of wood throughout the year for us to burn! it's plenty! hehehe

but my son and husband stack the wood just like you! hehehe but.. no beer afterwards LOL

nice to see you Beeber!!!!!!! :)

hey Dreemy nice to see you here ...so next year could you send your son and husband to europe to help? ;-) actually I rarely drink beer. But sometimes in the right moments its a fine thing to enjoy

Hehehehe I'm sure they will come! But they may require that you come back here to California to help them! 😜

Oh yes, my husband would love to share a beer with you

But we can no longer eat wheat. And so beer is off his list 😔

He did find a nice gluten free beer that he enjoyed. He could only find one brand that he liked lol

The rest were disgusting hahaha

But it's so expensive!

He hasn't had it in years lol

:-) out of interest, which was the only good one he came across?

Hahahahaha hi you!!!

I can't remember then name offhand...

It was a Spanish name and it was made with agave.

I want to say La ....La something hahaha

Let.me.try to look it up! Lol

There we go!!!

Fiesta Latina!

But I think he could only find it here in SoCal.

But it's been years since he even tried more. I bet there are better brands out there now!

When I just looked, they even have GF BARS!!!! THAT would be a cool place to try a bunch! Hehehehe

Here is the pic

Screenshot_20211026-150634.png

lols ... you do make me laugh Dreems. GF bars ... now there's a step forward. Only in America though I'm sure ... we don't drink much so it's not a biggie lol, I was just curious. I started us off properly GF on Thursday and then friday hubby forgot and bought the kids meal deals from the shops after school ...🙄Anyway, Saturday back on track and so far so good. It's a bit more work for me making sure I think a bit more ahead with food but it's all for a good reason. I wonder if they have any good Austrian or German GF beers these days ... somehow I think it's a cheat hubby may avail of on the odd occasion that he has a beer 😂

Ohhhhhh I forgot!!!! There was another!

He just bought it because he wanted to make proper fish and chips with beer batter!!!

I'll find out when he comes home hehehehe

What a great way to spend a Saturday! I always feel so accomplished after doing a few hours of solid physical work that moves my life forwards ... the community spirit is really good to see. !PIZZA goes well with beer lol. Not that I partake of either IRL unless the pizza is vegan and gluten-free ... not easy to find a nice one lols. As for beer, I hope you enjoyed it, a welcome reward after a long few hours slog. I would be opening a cider or a prosecco myself. Prost!

oh thanks for the Pizza :-) yes, I also love this powering out and kind of work you just du stept by step without thinking. a welcome variety to our normal lifes :-)
vegan and gluten free pizza? I once tried to make one with cauliflower ;-) but it was a mess, you needed a spoon to eat ;-)

ha ha ...but did it taste nice? 😄Actually I have found one that is ok. It looks fab before it goes in the oven but it comes out and the sauce seems to take over the pizza so it's like eating a very wet vegan cheese flavoured saucy pizza 😂Not sure if I'll bother for myself but my kids liked it and it will mean they don't get to miss out on pizza. Eldest who is 10 grabbed a bag of GF flour in the shop yesterday saying....we need this for pancakes mom! 💗🙌

haha :-) did you try pancakes with banana? heard about this should work! yes the "pizza-soup" tastet great ;-) but I never tried it again

I actually make pancakes using standard recipe but without the eggs and I add in vanilla protein powder instead. Have to make sure that next time everything is GF though. I've heard of using bananas for binding, I'll look into that, thank you :-) !PIZZA

I never tried this with bananas but as far I know you also need eggs for it. For me, I have no problem eating eggs when I know where they come from. I never liked those powder things with a lot of things mixed in it :-) good luck with the pancakes :-)

PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA!
