Good evening my dear HIVE friends, happy Sunday to all, I hope you are very well; our friend @galenkp brings us for the Weekend Engagement 172, very varied topics, but the first one in particular attracts me a lot because of my profession, which is "LCDA in Special Education" for a while I worked with children of different ages, with whom I handled certain important points for their education and life, that today thinking about it, you could say that they were wisdom and which I would apply in a classroom with ten year olds.
Human values will always be relevant points to discuss in class, but the three that I taught most were:
Respect and Courtesy.
One goes very well with the other, teaching children to be polite was leading them to be respectful, it is a practical way to put two values together and impart them at the same time, so while they are learning to handle all the rules of courtesy, such as communication management, greeting, farewell, punctuality and so on, they are conditioning their minds to be respectful, it would only remain to continue educating them so that respect is something they use very well; at that age of ten, is when children expand their minds to new knowledge and it is very necessary to teach them to be polite and respectful.
Responsibility.
It is essential to teach them to be responsible from an early age, and this is something that we must handle a lot in class, not allowing them to take things lightly, we must show them the value of being responsible, in terms of their studies, which depends on how promising their professional future may be, and also as a person, being responsible for their actions, depending on the situation, not escaping, but facing, repairing mistakes made and evolving to be better every day; Of course, looking for the best strategies to teach them how it should be done, since they are children, we must know how to communicate what we want to teach them so that they understand and put it into practice.
Humility.
Finally, but just as important, humility is a very relevant point to address, children are influenced by what they see and hear, sometimes losing themselves and creating a new behavior, so in class we must always handle this issue, show them how important it is to be humble, whether they have a lot or little, it is something that comes from their heart, which is where those nice feelings that leads them to have a good attitude, to share without selfishness, not to belittle their friends, never consider themselves better than others and so on.
