Hello friends of #Hive and community Weekend Experiences, this is my entry in the dynamic weekend engagement moderated by @galenkp, I will answer question number 1:
What is the most important historical site you have visited? Explain it and use your own pictures.
The city where I live stands out for having important historical sites that attract many tourists throughout the year, among them are museums, colonial buildings, two fortresses and emblematic places of great relevance for the historical events that occurred there and in the surroundings, but Definitely the one I like the most is the San Antonio de la Eminencia castle, more than a castle it is a fortress with a strategic location in the upper part of the city, from this point you can see different sectors given its height and excellent location, I have been in several opportunities to visit this fortress and Each visit is a fun experience with a lot of learning, there is always something new to learn, a historical fact, character, old utensils among others, or simply enjoy the spectacular view of the city from this point.
Although in the city there are two important museums, one that shows the life of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho and the museum of the sea, where you can learn about the great variety of marine species, also several churches with incredible designs and interesting stories, definitely the castle is my favorite historical place, because it has characteristics that make it unique; Its four-pointed star design, the age dating back more than 300 years, the material used in its construction calicanto and coral blocks, make this fortress an attractive and perfect place to visit, also has guides who accompany you on the tour and explain the history of this outstanding work and heritage of the state, its construction was made in a strategic place to protect the city from the continuous attacks of pirates who sailed the waters of the Caribbean Sea in search of treasure and territory.
Visiting this fortress is to be transported back in time, to know how our ancestors lived and the ingenuity they had to build this great building using coral blocks, also in this castle you can see some of the utensils and tools they used in colonial times, if you ever have the opportunity to visit the city of Cumana, the castle San Antonio de la Eminencia is an excellent place to learn part of the history of the city and admire beautiful views of the same including the Araya peninsula.
Blessings!
