RE: Weekend-engagement topic week 29: Talkin' toys

So, I know I'm late but had to comment, it made me think of a time when I almost gave my brother permanent brain damage with a toy.

I don't know if you've heard of Tonka trucks but my brother had one. They're made of metal and I remember them being pretty heavy. I had to be around five years old, and my brother was six. My father was home, I remember a cast being on his leg. My brother and I were playing in the back yard, I was playing with a red plastic car, I can remember it was faded, almost pink from the sun... and I'm pretty sure it was some sort of sports car. My brother had the Tonka truck. So, I'm having a good time, I was a child who was absolutely fine with being alone. My brother on the other hand well.... He saw me having fun with the car and so he came and took it, he gave me the tonka truck... I continued that have a blast especially now cause I can fill it with dirt and oh boy! Well my brother sees this and comes and takes it from me, gives me back the plastic car. OK, No biggie, I start playing again, and my brother does the same thing. So now that I have the tonka truck, I get up... pick up the truck, walk over to my brother, raise the truck above my head, and smack my brother in the head with the tonka truck. At about the time I have the truck raised above my head, my father comes running out with his cast yelling... but it was already too late. My brother was fine, I was 5 and that truck was heavy so I didn't hurt him as much as I could have. Boy, did I get a beating that day. HAHA

I have made sure that my brother doesn't forget that all these years lol

Merry Belated Christmas @galenkp Can I say belated for Christmas? See you around!

I had Tonka Trucks as a kid too and they make perfect tools with which to inflict blunt force trauma to siblings heads, but I'm preaching to the converted here as I can see you've already worked that out. It's a shame you didn't get to this topic within the weekend it was posted as I think this comment wold have inspired a lot of fun commenting.

I hope you've had a great festive season and now 2021 is here that it starts well, ends well and has a lot of good stuff in the middle.
