If you get in a working spree like I had been for almost 2 years, you might consider it is time to take a break. If that's the case, you definitely should. It is health advice. There's some pending work for this weekend and I can't get rid of it. However, I know what I'd rather be doing during the weekend.
On the second week of December, I went for a short vacation trip to Caracas. It had been not too long ago I went the LATAM Crypto Festival. Nevertheless, going to festival gave me no time to enjoy the city. So, my vacation planning was in the hands of my dear Hivers and fans, @madefrance and @maryed. It's been already some years since we have been sharing comments and videocalls and messages outside of Hive. They are some of my closest digital friends and now I know them in the flesh.
During my second to last day, the girls took me for a RnR day at East Park (Parque del Este). It was a day of going to to the park and feel the warmth of the sun, the cool breeze and enjoying the time communing with this bit of nature located in the east side of the city. This park is way bigger than I realized.
Since I arrived earlier, I spent some time near the entrance of the park watching the kids play and then walking. I found some stands of people selling food, goods and other things. Some of these gave me some free samples of their products. While I waited, I had brownies, ice cream and ponche de crema (something similar to eggnog). Then @maryed arrived and we spent some time talking about many things about having time to relax. She showed me her Bullet Journal and it was as aesthetic as I thought it would be.
Once @madefrance arrived to the park, we went for a long walk through the middle of there are some amazing trees in the place, but I didn't stop to take photos of each one of them. That would've taken too long! We walked over a pass that goes on top of the highway and crossed to the secondary part of the park where there are some places to sit and enjoy. But they took me straight to the pond. It is a nice place to rest. We spent some hours chilling and talking. Although tempting, they told me not to dip my feet in the waters since there are turtles and alligators in it.
Taking away the hazards for my toes, the time over the grass, the wind, the sun, the talk, everything was the kind of disconnection I needed for so long. It is a nice way to recharge batteries for the things to come.
There's a park in Cumana , but it is not even 1/4th the size of this one. Besides, East Park is well maintained and hosts many attractions made for the taste of all people. There were children's parties and people exercising along the path. It is an amazing place I hope to visit again when I go back to the capital. And I hope to do it with my friends.
However, in order to go there, I need to get my work done and save some of the earnings of said jobs to give me the luxury of traveling.
In our group selfie, we were going for a English-teaching-book vibe. You know the ones. Those were there's representation for each group in the cover. And I think we nailed it. That joke was one we laughed at for quite sometime and still do.
