RE: Weekend-engagement topic week 50: The natural world

Cezanne's mountain? Natural and so very cool!

There is a national park here in AZ (Petrified Forest) that has signage up about the curse that is transferred when one takes a stone or bit of petrified wood home with them, including some testimonials. I don't know if it slowed the leakage but it's pretty cool.

I love the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert!, There are SO many rock shops outside the Park that sell petrified wood that there would be no reason to steal any from the park when you can just go and buy a chunk any place. The rocks I brought home were nothing special, probably limestone. I've brought rocks, pebbles and shells home from places that were special to me from all over the world. Cheap souvenirs!

I have a really good friend that has a 'rock garden'in his back yard in Spokane, Wa. It has rocks from lots of places that people have brought him over the years. I know that there is a bit of concrete from Alcatraz and some sandstone from Grand Canyon for sure. It's really a pretty cool place...

My kind of garden! Alcatraz. How fun!
