Beach Please

in Weekend Experiences2 days ago (edited)

Hello! beautiful people of the Weekend community. This is my first time posting here. I hope you welcome me with your warmest smile and appreciation.

There was an advisory from Aneco an electric cooperative, that there will be a power outage in the whole city this Saturday. My sister just made a spontaneous decision that we'd go to the beach today since there would be no power for the whole day.

We packed our bags, brought some home-cooked meals, bought some bread from the bakeshop along the way, and went to my sister's house. She brought her dogs. They were very excited. Bailey jumped to every person inside the house when we went there to fetch them.
The photo is blurry since the dog was moving

We went to the nearest beach resort in our city, Masao Beach. Let me tell you a little about Masao. Masao was considered for centuries the place where the first Catholic mass in the Philippines was held. There were arguments about it before that it was first held in Limazawa instead. You can read the whole article here: The historical controversy on where the 1521 Easter Sunday Mass (previously called “First Mass”) was held has been affecting generations of Filipinos. source

We finally reached this simple and no-fancy resort. The cottage is just made from a nipa hut and bamboo. This is the far left side of the beach. It looked peaceful because there were no other people except us. It was the best timing. This is the place I would want to be. It's like we own the whole beach this time.

The water was so calm and resting. It's like frozen ice because you barely see waves.

Look how excited Bailey was. He likes the beach. It's his first time swimming. He loves it. He didn't want to stop swimming, but he was not stubborn when my sister brought him out of the water.

This is Patchi and she also likes the water a bit. She is the calmest and nicest dog I have known. She is alof with other dogs, which is rare for a dog. She doesn't like to play with them. She only likes her owner. She is just so kind and listens well. A very friendly and human-like Shih Tzu.

The water was so calm and peaceful. I love the sand in Masao, it's so fine. When you are in the water there is a part with little pebbles then you can step on sand. It is comfortable to just walk. But mind you, there were a few jellyfish. It was in the news a few months ago, but there were still jellyfish. It was itchy. We swam and sat on the sand and listened to the little waves. There were no dull moments. It was just a beautiful day. It was therapy worthy to be at every weekend.

The beach is good for us. It's said that it's good for our joints. As an ESL teacher who sits for a long period, I must visit the beach once in a while. Research has consistently found that many aspects of being at the beach are soothing and can help ease depression. That is why so many Europeans or Westerners come to Asia and have a stay at the beach. Itis calming and relaxing.

The view is simply beautiful.

Thank you for swinging by. To the next blog.

I agree with you that it is very important to give yourself a little break to reset and giving attention to the mental health. As they say, "keep it easy".

Have a great day!

We definitely need it to recharge ourselves for the working days. Thank you for swinging by.
