I am glad you expressed what you were feeling because it’s good to get those feelings out. I’m also glad you decided not to start over. Trust me, there were many times back then when I got discouraged and wanted to either leave or start over due to unwanted responses or people being rude. I had to shake that off and realize one or two people doesn’t account for the whole platform. Although someone may mute me that doesn’t mean no one wants to listen to me.
I see that you realize now it’s a Must to read the rules as guidelines of every community before posting. Some people get flagged for using irrelevant tags because they think they mean something but didn’t research to find out what they should be used for. I made it a habit to always know as much as I can before posting anywhere and that made all the difference.
Time and effort is what will allow you to see a change. Continue posting quality, commenting and responding and most of all having fun and the rest will eventually follow.
In the community I founded I do give warnings before muting and also in the communities I work in we too give a warning. Everyone operates in different ways but one things for sure, I try to do everything in a kind and respectful way. I know how I feel when people are short and rude with me so I do the opposite and have a more gentle approach.
Either way, as long as you know your worth and know that you are creating an impact on others continue on and be confident in that. I believe you will do better with knowing the rules and taking your time to familiarize yourself with things before you interact ;)
