RE: Weekend-engagement highlights: Week 161

A little late but @galenkp, mate, thank you very much for the recognition and for the gift, it's a pleasure to be here.

Storytime:
I have another article, in another community and I want to boosted it, then I saw more points than I had yesterday, and I thought Ecency had some bug, so I logged out and logged in to see if that was the case. I was surprised, then I came to the report, I always read it because it's a way to find good content, and I saw my name, I was surprised and very happy 😁

The posts this week were very good, they keep getting better, you can see the effect of #weekend-engagement

Mate, have an excellent week!

You're welcome.

Try boosting someone else's post with your Ecency points rather than your own, which seems like self-voting to me. It's a nice way to support the community and I'm sure the person whose post you boost will be very appreciative.

Noted advice ✍🏻, you're absolutely right.

In fact, you gave me an idea for the project that I will soon launch on Hive (hopefully, I'll be talking about it soon 😉).

It's always good to listen to advice, thank you for giving it to me 🙏🏻

I'm glad you took it this way...I understand that it seems more valuable to the individual to self-vote with ecency points for the small reward, but I see more value in supporting others in the community as it builds relationships...For example, yours and mine - not saying you should be boosting my posts, here.

I say this because if I see people self-voting with ecency points I tend not to vote their posts anymore, and certainly won't send them to curangel...so, to gain a small vote, the user loses far more in the end. I also like to see people supporting others and will support them in doing so, with bigger votes and in other ways.

You do good work and I feel you're an under-rewarded content creator, however to build you need to invest and I see the free ecency votes as a way you can do so more effectively. Vote on some great content, (not always your friends), and comment on those posts...I think you'll build momentum quickly.

You don't know how much I appreciate you giving me advice, and especially reading your point of view. I've only been here for two months and want to learn from the best, so I am very grateful for your words. Your way of thinking has made me reflect. You are definitely right about what you say.

Truly, since I started here, I have felt the support from you, Taraz, and Curangel, as one of the ones who mostly curate my content, and I greatly appreciate it. While I'm not on Hive for the money, I won't deny that in the country where I live and the economic disaster we have, Hive is a great help. I wish I could make a big investment and increase my HP, but it's not my reality. I know that the economic rewards will come with hard work and good content. I try not to pay too much attention to the fact that I receive little support from the big whales, because the few upvotes I get, most of them are through my daily work in the ecosystem, and because I know that they value my content. From there, I have met two brothers, one in Australia and the other in Finland, who have taught me many things about Hive. I belong to a community from a not very well-known island, and yet I became a witness in less than two years. I have met wonderful people who are teaching me many things, and above all, I am learning about many things that I never thought I would know. I have grown as a person and I am grateful for that.

I don't want to go on too long and bore you, so I am greatly thankful to you, mate.

I'm still learning too...when I stop learning it'll mean I'm dead.

I understand about the financial situation there and that a few USD's will come in handy. If you need to take some that's ok. I always suggest to those who need to do so is that they take what they need, but immediately also power up the same amount. So, let's say you have 100 in liquid...Take 50 and power up 50 at the same time. That way when people look (and we do) we can see you're working to balance it out and are keen to support that blockchain. That will almost certainly add up to me handing out bigger upvotes to those who do that.

Don't worry about the whales, they'll do what they do. Besides, people that get those votes often take it for granted and when it stops, as it invariably always does, they have no real relationships because they've been fucken lazy. Do what you're doing, build real relationships...the rest will take care of itself.

You're doing well, just keep doing that and you'll be happy with your time here, and rewarded.
