Weekend engagement 220: Becoming a computer scientist

I am a very obsessive person with the topics that half catch my attention, once I get hooked, I try to learn as much as possible before moving on to another, so I can give a long presentation on various topics. Currently, I am very interested in the history of computing and open source free software, and its close relationship with closed source, I am fascinated by how both complement each other and go hand in hand.

Lately I have become obsessed with this topic and I have read a lot about it, I love the history of the first computers and how that path slowly led to creating a system that can be installed on different computers, I remember being fascinated to discover how the pioneers of computing, with limited resources, managed to lay the foundations for what we know today as operating systems.

Although I have already reduced the intensity of reading on this topic, there were weeks in which I only read and talked about it, I am passionate about the topic of reverse engineering, how it was applied to many systems and how, thanks to it, different systems were created. types of software similar to the original ones that were closed source.

It is incredible to think about how the developer community, through collaboration and knowledge exchange, has managed to build operating systems as robust and versatile as Linux. I really like the topic of Linux and all its aspects, from the most popular distributions. even the most specialized ones.

Right now, I could give a long talk on the philosophy of free software, the importance of community, and the infinite possibilities that Linux offers. I would choose all of these specific topics because they are the most recent ones I have read and I still have a bit of a 'fever' to learn and share.

¡Thank you for reading!

¡Until next time!

I was disappointed to see that you've only powered up once since the middle of 2022, two years, and that power up was only 0.050, but you have taken funds away from the blockchain multiple times in that same time period.

I like to support people who support the blockchain a little by powering up, so unfortunately I can't support this post with a vote.

I'm sorry, I thought that this community supported creative writing, which is in fact the only thing I have been doing with great care and dedication since I became a member here. Despite being a ghost user, I put a lot of effort into my writing. I didn't know that your support was subject to that condition. I don't think I read it in the rules. It won't happen again. Greetings.

It's not about the rules of the community...I (personally) will no longer support people who take all of their rewards out of the blockchain (like you) and do no power ups to support the blockchain.
