Very good day to the whole community, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, I tell you about our weekend walk: the visit to the National Historical Museum, gurda of the corvo sable of Gen. Jose de San Martín.
Muy buen día a toda la comunidad, desde buenos Aires, Argentina, les cuento sobre nuestro paseo de fin de semana: la visita al Museo Histórico Nacional, gurda del sable corvo del Gral. Jose de San Martín.
Despite living in Buenos Aires, there are many places of cultural interest that I do not know and that I have proposed to visit little by little: walks, museums, tunnels, parks ... all tell part of our history and although I know a lot from books, it is never the same to see it live. The city is very large and there are variants for all tastes and pockets.
A pesar de vivir en Buenos Aires, hay muchos lugares de interés cultural que no conozco y que me he propuesto de a poco visitar: paseos, museos, túneles, parques….todos cuentan parte de nuestra historia y si bien mucho lo conozco de los libros, nunca es lo mismo verlo en vivo. La ciudad es muy grande y hay variantes para todos los gustos y bolsillos.
On Sunday, April 10, we went to visit the National Historical Museum located in Lezama Park, in the house of José Gregorio Lezama, a wealthy merchant from 1897 who had a huge house surrounded by a beautiful park that today is Lezama Park, the city's public park.
El Domingo 10 de Abril fuimos a conocer e Museo Histórico Nacional emplazado en el Parque Lezama, en la casa de José Gregorio Lezama, un acaudalado comerciante de 1897 que tenía una enorme casa rodeada de un parque hermoso que hoy es el Parque Lezama, parque público de la ciudad.
At the door, while we were waiting to enter, we witnessed the changing of the guard of the Grenadier Regiment on horseback Gral. San Martín since the saber is guarded all the time by a grenadier. The imprint that allows the visitor to see its seriousness and the march is inexplicable, it is very nice to witness.
En la puerta, mientras esperábamos entrar, fuimos testigos del cambio de guardia del Regimiento de Granaderos a caballo Gral. San Martín ya que el sable es custodiado todo el tiempo por un granadero. La impronta que le deja al visitante ver su seriedad y la marcha es inexplicable, es muy lindo de presenciar.
There are rooms dedicated to Gen. San Martín, where some of his belongings are exhibited, an exact reproduction of his bedroom in Boulogne Sur Mer, with the royal furniture donated by his granddaughter, Josefa Balcarce. One of the general's tents, belongings such as mate, a silver inkwell, suits... It is really exciting to see his personal things after so long and considering what San Martín was: father of our homeland and liberator of Chile and Peru.
Hay salones dedicados al Gral. San Martín, en donde se exponen algunas de sus pertenencias, una reproducción exacta de su dormitorio en Boulogne Sur Mer, con los muebles reales donados por su nieta, Josefa Balcarce. Uno de los catres de campaña del general, pertenencias como el mate, un tintero de plata, trajes…. Realmente es emocionante ver sus cosas personales luego de tanto tiempo y teniendo en cuenta lo que fue San Martín: padre de nuestra patria y libertador de Chile y Perú.
Other rooms were dedicated to the War of the Triple Alliance against Paraguay, and showed one of the collections of paintings of Cándido López, the soldier who painted the war, making sketches on the battlefield and then painting them with his left hand (since the right was badly damaged). Thanks to him you can see the details of such a terrible massacre.
Otros salones estaban dedicados a la Guerra de la Triple Alianza contra Paraguay, y mostraban una de las colecciones de cuadros de Cándido López, el soldado que pintó la guerra, haciendo bocetos en el campo de batalla y luego pintando los mismos con su mano izquierda (ya que la derecha fue gravemente dañada). Gracias a él se pueden ver los detalles de tan terrible masacre.
In the museum some of the samples are rotating and changing, but they always try to tell the story of our independence, and pay tribute to the father of the country, Gen. San Martín.
En el museo algunas de las muestras van rotando y cambiando, pero tratan siempre de que se cuente la historia de nuestra independencia, y rendirle tributo al padre de la patria, el Gral. San Martín.
It is really important to recognize and remember our history, I admire how at that time the brave soldiers managed to do feats without means or technology, moved only by the love of that homeland that was being born....
Realmente es importante reconocer y recordar nuestra historia, admiro como en esa época los valientes soldados lograron hacer proezas sin medios ni tecnología, movidos solo por el amor a esa patria que estaba naciendo….
