I'm annoying

Im an annoying cunt-1.jpg

It's absolutely true. I have been known to be very annoying. Not necessarily on purpose, but sometimes I annoy people because I push buttons. Not like the type in the photo either, I push emotional buttons especially when people say one thing and do something entirely the opposite.

We are all swayed by emotions at times - it happens, we are human. On the annoyometer, I would say I can go from 1 to 60 in 0,2seconds. I think that my most annoying character trait is digging in my heels when I feel I've been screwed over or wronged. Unfortunately I become very stubborn and I can hold grudges for a long time. I am pretty sure that annoys people on the receiving end. I have a fair amount of forgiveness in me and I give people the benefit of the doubt for a long time, but there's also a line and once that line is crossed - well, I know I can become exasperatingly irksome.

Many years ago I was on a University outing where the class were staying together in shared accommodation in a little town while we completed various assignments. I got along with most of them very well and while we were all pretty stressed, we were generally a considerate bunch. Except for one woman who I just couldn't gel with. We were two very different people with very different world views.

On the third evening we were there, one of the men announced that he was going to the local supermarket and was happy to get anything for anyone to save us all a trip. I thought this was extremely thoughtful so I walked up to him and thanked him for the offer and wanted to say that I would take him up on it but out of nowhere this woman cut me off by literally jumping in front of me, whipping out a wad of cash that she'd just rummaged out of her bag and started waving it around in front of him.

Whatever I was in the middle of saying trailed off and I took a step backwards. I looked at her waving her money around as if she was in a strip club and he was a pole dancer. She had a really weird warped smile on her face which I found highly disturbing.

He looked at her, then looked at me. I think we were both rather shocked. She then started rambling off a list of things for him to buy for her and flipping through her money. After about twenty seconds, I just laughed under my breath and turned to walk away shaking my head. She didn't like that one bit and barked at me "What's your problem Emma?"

I very calmly stated that she was being very rude. She had interrupted and thought it was ok to do so because she's a rich, stuck up snob who looks down on everyone else around her and that she should stop being an entitled brat.

Her face turned a very strange shade of red amid the deafening silence around us. I met her gaze with nonchalance and told Jared that we could talk once he came back, I was happy to give him my cash for the milk after everyone else had put in their orders, I didn't mind waiting my turn.

I think that annoyed her immensely.

The animosity between us never went away, but she was never rude to me like that again. I think what really annoyed her is that she didn't have a good come back or rebuttal. Oh well. Too bad.

On a lighter side, I also know of a few other traits of mine that are irritating. I make really bad jokes sometimes. Like REALLY, REALLY bad jokes, puns and plays on words that sometimes I find hysterically funny and other people find downright vexatious. The worst is when I try to say something but it's so funny in my own mind that I can't stop laughing and can barely get a word out. It's a great feeling, having a good laughing fit every now and again, but others very rarely seem to appreciate it.

Looking forward to reading about other annoyers and annoyees in the community.

You are.

Lol. But seriously, you are. I'm not even joking.

Ok, fuck it, I'm joking, but only a little bit.

Don't know if you noticed what that scribbly font part said?? That was specially for you 😝

Glad I'm in good company, you can be annoying too. It's nice to know we laugh at each other's annoyances. I had fun writing this, thanks for giving me yet another opportunity to be annoying G-Dog.

I did notice that text. Interesting text it was too.

Writing my comment to your post took me several minutes because I couldn't stop laughing. You have completely made my night 🤣.

Hahahahaha.... That's why we get along so well Em 🤭.

"Triptease and he was a pole dancer?". 🤣🤣🤣 You ate it up with this sentence.

I'm addicted to laughing, my friend. So if we were to meet in person, I can't imagine what it would be like 🤪.

I wonder, what would be your very very bad jokes?? 🤣 🤣

Purple Glitter! Hello 😁 I'm so glad you got a kick out of reading this. I imagine you and I would be giggling a lot, it's a great feeling and I think we would have a lot of fun.

Shame, I felt so bad for the guy. It was so awkward for him. She made it awkward. I just made it more awkwarder for her and that was me being polite. I didn't even swear, it could have been far worse.

Oh gosh, you don't even want to know. The next time I make a really stupid joke that falls flat on its face, I'll write a post on it and tag you. You'll probably be the only person who reads it and understands 😂

Have a nice weekend please and look after yourself. Hugs x

Perfect! I'll be on the lookout to read it 😜 Likewise to you my friend 💟 I'll spend my weekend looking for someone to annoy 😂

Oh, I like this kind of annoyance; both, actually. The former, which I was pretty damn awesome, was well and perfectly served. She sure didn't have a comeback for it because deflated her oversized ego.

The latter, well, I like it because I consider it a good thing for one to be able to find joy in little things in their lives, no matter how cringe other people may see it.

Hello Joe. Lol, I think you hit the nail on the head there. Ego. It's a bitch. She wasn't expecting a comeback from me because nobody in that room had seen someone push me over the line before. The best part is when you can be really calm and monotone with people like that, it makes them really annoyed.

Yes, well I'm happy to be cringe if at least some people start laughing when I'm pissing myself over my own stupidity. People sometimes take life way too seriously. If you get an opportunity to laugh, take it.

Thanks for coming by and reading, it's always cool to chat with you.

I think that my most annoying character trait is digging in my heels when I feel I've been screwed over or wronged.

Are you and my wife long lost twins?

Unfortunately I become very stubborn and I can hold grudges for a long time.

My God! You Are!

Hahaha Joe, you never know, you just never know 🤣 She sounds like my kinda gal.

While it annoyed her, you weren't bad, as you weren't rude like her, she was brought down to a lower level and had to change her attitude.

I loved the story @emma-h 😀

It probably did come across as rude, most of the time being truthful does. She got the picture though.

Glad you enjoyed the story. Have a good end to the weekend Amonet. 😊

No more rude than the other person, being direct is not so bad....

I loved the story, thank you very much!😀

This was annoying because it was unresolved. Did you get everything from the supermarket? Did the lady waving the money about get their comeuppance?

See? I'm great at it!

Yes, I got the milk and everyone else got their things including her stupidly long list of groceries.

I think that my retort was enough, she never tried being a brat around me again, so maybe she learned something. She was quite a lot younger than me, so don't think she had much life experience yet. Hopefully down the line she gained more perspective and learned that flashing around money doesn't buy you respect.

Being annoying is a defense mechanism, but it only ever affects very weird people who are as rude as the person you mention here. Ha, ha, ha, ha. I would've pushed that person for getting in the way of me telling the thing I needed from the supermarket. If I were the guy, I would've outright tell her to shut up.

The never of some people!

I also liked the wat you reacted. That's not a time or place to get into quarrels for stupid things.

And hey, I do love myself a bad joke from time to time. It makes it even more special when it's punny joke.

I had never thought of it that way, that's interesting, a defense mechanism 🤔 I'm going to delve into the psychology of that for sure.

It didn't bother me that she jumped the queue, it was the way she addressed me and him as if we were below her like servants?

Bad jokes help sometimes, especially in bad times. That's why I enjoy Monty Python.

Well, rich people are crazy, aren't them? It comes as no surprise. But still, a little pat on the head with a chair would solve those problems. 🤣

I think discomfort is part of life and even more so when we sometimes face situations that are out of our hands and we cannot control. I think the best thing we can do is know how to handle those impulses with emotional intelligence so as not to end up doing something wrong. that we can regret it later, Happy Weekend

Yes, true. Life is going to throw us into uncomfortable positions, I've been in plenty. Having emotional intelligence is great, but there is also only so much you can do if someone is being a tool, that's why I explained that I (like most people if we're being truthful) have a breaking point.

My ability to be annoying has definitely helped me do things I later regretted. It's something that I need to live with and take the lesson from it. That's why I'm happy to admit that I'm annoying. At least I've come to terms with it.

Thanks for your comment, I appreciate you taking the time.

It was a pleasure to read your excellent entry, I wish you a great weekend 😊

looked at her waving her money around as if she was in a strip club and he was a pole dancer. She had a really weird warped smile on her face which I found highly disturbing.

This made me smile.

I can vividly picture the situation :<)

On a lighter side, I also know of a few other traits of mine that are irritating. I make really bad jokes sometimes. Like REALLY, REALLY bad jokes, puns and plays on words that sometimes I find hysterically funny and other people find downright vexatious.

Nothing wrong with that, you might have seen some of those in the end jokes of my book ;<)

The worst is when I try to say something but it's so funny in my own mind that I can't stop laughing and can barely get a word out. It's a great feeling, having a good laughing fit every now and again, but others very rarely seem to appreciate it.

This doesn't happen to me often but I can imagine it and I would find it pretty funny to see someone do this!

I don't think I am very annoying, although not everybody might always appreciate my jokes ( either because they don't know me well enough and don't understand I'm joking or because they don't have much of a sense of humor haha! )

No spoilers please! I haven't got to the end of your book yet.

I like humour. Dry humour is even better. I appreciate jokes - if they make me laugh, then awesome. Hell, sometimes I even laugh at things that some people might not even think are that funny so I know what you mean when not everyone understands.

That woman was odd. She gave me American Psycho vibes from the first time I met her. Gosh, I watched that movie a few weeks back and it was so terrible. Were people seriously that weird over business cards?

I read the book American Psycho, decades ago, before I watched the movie multiple times. In fact, I watched a handful of books by this writer: Bret Easton Ellis.

The book is way better ( but pretty gruesome, very detailed ) than its movie adaptation, but the film is alright (imo). The business card scene can be found in the book too.

We can all be annoying at times and those that say they aren't, are being annoying by saying they're not annoying. 🙃

Becca 🌷

True. Those of us who can't admit our weaknesses are most prone to their folly.

The worst part is that sometimes I probably enjoy being annoying a little bit too much. That's my evil side having a laugh 🤣

I probably enjoy being annoying a little bit too much.

You'll annoy yourself into strife I think, if you haven't already. 😃

Becca 🌷

Hahaha, in fairness, people like that deserve to be pulled on their crap, there are so many people walking around with their head up their arses, acting selfish because they have a warped perception of themselves, nothing wrong with saying so, and in fact, it probably helped her learn some cop on.

Hahaha, I do the same, saying silly jokes that amuse me and seem to annoy others, but I mainly do and say whatever pops into my head specifically to annoy people.
