A thousand different lives.

Gaming is probably my oldest hobby. At times I take breaks but eventually my passion for gaming always returns. I love experiencing different stories, exploring foreign fantasy worlds, slaying monsters and abominations. And the best part is that I can do all these things without even leaving my home.

There are so many different games that I believe that there is game for everyone. My favorite games are RPG. I can play these games in different ways and make different choices. This means that I often can play the same game multiple times and have completely different experiences each time. One time I can be a noble hero ready to save the world and the next time a dark lord who only seeks benefits and power for himself. Or I can spend my time simply wandering around and listening to awesome music and playing card games.

Gaming offers many possibilities. If you feel like solving a murder mystery you can do that. Or perhaps you would rather fight dragons, build a large empire and conquer the world? Or maybe win the nba title? You can do that as well because gaming is freedom to do what you want. Another advantage of gaming is that it is cheaper than many other potential hobbies. For example you can enjoy some games for many hours and buying them can be cheaper than going to a single basketball game. Traveling in real world would be ridiculously expensive but exploring many worlds in game is far cheaper. And having countless lives filled with various adventures is really fun.

I have often wished that I had played some when I had the chance with kids and early gaming consoles. When I was coaching Jr. High Football (20 years ago) my brother in law and I would host a couple of Madden tourneys for our kids per year. I'd play but only calling plays. I'd get one of the kids to run the controller for me. I'm a much better coach than player :)

I did spend some time with a slow moving RPG called LoL (Lords of Lothar) a few years back. A friend and his brother developed it and I played it from beta to when they pulled the plug on it.

So I get it. Gaming is a great hobby.

That's cool getting involved in a beta from a friend, sucks they shelved it though!

Well, it was a pretty specific project and when the brother had his second child and my friend's kids were in Little League and ballet and that sort of stuff it seemed a good time to go. I understood it, but was sorry to see it go too.

Oh yeah for sure then, way more important things than a side project lol

it is a shame that your friend's game did not succeed.

Well, the platform changed and the brothers decided it was time to go. They are both tech engineers at the Magic Kingdom so it's not like they are starving. I've just recently started trying to get hold of them to introduce them to hive...

I hear you, gaming has been a lot of fun for me in my life! There have been quite a few really interesting and fun games I’ve played and RPG style has definitely been my favorite. Shooting games yeah but RPG’s are more entertaining! I played a few fun MMORPG’s in the past!

I know I played runescape. but I remember very little of it. But I loved games like Witcher and Dragon age origins.
