Weekend Engagement 204: When it’s hard, Remember the first reason Why you join Here.

Good day, Hivers! I hope you’re fine while enjoying your weekends. This is me, your ordinary girl. Today, I want to share my thoughts about the weekend engagement 204. The questions are hard for me, it’s difficult to choose. Not because I have so many things to share in the given questions but because I feel like joining Miss Universe and the answers must be catchy to the judges. Hahaha. I’m not good at flowering words, I always direct to the point, and since I’m already here on this platform, I might as well do my job well.

I was thinking of not joining as I told you in the first paragraph, the questions are hard. But I feel guilty to @galenkp since I told him in one of his posts that I was excited about the next weekend’s engagement. So, here’s my POV.

The questions I think I can easily share my idea would be “Would you still want to post blogs on Hive if there was no monetary reward at all? Why or why not? Explain.

Joining Hive was a bit of a challenge for me. I was curious about Hive when one of my colleagues introduced it to me. The convincing word from joining Hive would be “You’ll do blogging, and you will have a monetary reward later.” Since it will be an opportunity for me to be able to blog and the bonus part was the monetary of it, I was convinced to join the orientation. Luckily, the orientation was online, so it was not hard for me to listen.

The first challenge was creating an intro blog. One thing that I don’t like is writing an essay, it’s easy to write but my enemy would be the correct writing skills. But now, we have the so-called Grammarly. It’s easy to introduce yourself but making it 1,000+ words for me was hard. Yet, my interest won over the 1000+ words, and I found myself writing the intro blog, and to my amusement, it’s not that hard. I was very happy at that time, being able to write an intro blog, and can now join the platform.

The second challenge was the restriction on publishing your work. Perks of not listening well during the orientation, and I felt discouraged, the reason why I only posted my intro blog and no follow-up afterward. I don’t know how to publish my work and the school year has started, and I feel that I don’t want to disturb my colleagues about it. So, my discouragement won over my interest.

I first join Hive last July 2023 but after my intro blog, I abruptly stop because of that discouragement. It’s my fault and we cannot redo what’s done is done. We cannot waste our emotions over the spilled milk. Move on.

How I join back in the Hive? If you checked my blog about HPUD, I shared the reason behind it. In summary, it was because of @selflessgem, who told me about the monetization of my intro blog. I earned 23HBD. I was very happy with the reward and caught my interest again. Blogging and earning.

It was good timing; in 2 months it will be the end of the school year. So, I can spend more time in Hive. I told myself, to give thanks to the platform for the monetary that I received, let’s learn again. I asked my colleague and my mentor how to publish my work in Hive and Viola. I made it my first blog aside from my intro blog: *Explorer at a Young Age in Argao, Cebu Philippines. *I was happy again. It seems like I was now a true blogger. Hahaha, funny.

It’s been six weeks since I started exploring the platform. Since I’m overdue with the 3 months incubation period, I need to engage more of the people in the community to be known. It was an easy task for me. Aside from that, I love reading, their contents were informative and interesting too, I love how friendly the people here in the community are and how open for comments and suggestions too.

Being here in Hive, my time becomes worthy rather than scrolling Facebook and all I can see are the negative things that happened. Here in Hive, we can see more positive content and interesting ones.

In Hive, part of it is gaining upvotes as the evidence that you’re known. But every time I received low upvotes, I felt the discouragement again, yet I would not let my discouragement again win over my interest. So, If I feel that it’s hard, I will always remember the first reason why I’m here. Blogging. It’s not purely about the reward, but rather my interest in writing and reading. Sometimes, I get tired of writing because of those upvotes. Hahaha, but I will always back to square one and ask myself, Why I’m joining Hive?

Would I like to publish without monetization? No, and yes.
NO. If it was my first time to know Hive and convinced me to join without the reward, I would decline. I would be a hypocrite to work without any return, it's innate to humans. We love having rewards after hard work.

Yes, I will still publish even though receiving low upvotes. I’m already here, and my interest is now here, so, I must continue, and no turning back. This will be my 5-year project. Hahaha

The best writer did not start from the top but at the bottom part. The hardest part of a plan is the starting step. I’m now in my first step which is having an account in Hive, and the rest will be history. As I always say Fighting! Do not forget the upvotes.

Thank you for reaching this far. If you want to inspire, learn, and want to see beautiful scenery, experiences, and places, do not forget to follow, upvote, and reblog my post as a way of supporting and motivating me to write more. Thank you.

I appreciate your sincerity in saying that if there wasn't the point of monetization you wouldn't be here. Many get discouraged and don't come back because they weren't voted in, how good you could have been supported

Thank you for the time to read my post. I appreciate it too. Well, the people in the community motivated me that it takes more than a year to become established in Hive. So, why not try. Nevertheless, I enjoyed engaging the people here, I love reading your works and making comments on them. Thank you also for your upvotes. 😊Good evening.

That's good to know about your Weekend Experience 😃🙂.. keep sharing 😉😉😉

Yeah, thank you for your comments. I'll do the sharing, you'll do the upvotes. 😁

Yes! For sure...

Thanks for the support. 😊

It is an interesting challenge to which everyone will have a simple answer in their heart, a yes or no, the rest is to share the reason for our position on the matter, which I imagine is the idea of the initiative. I wish you much success in your purpose.
Best regards.

Thank you for the kind words. Thanks also for dropping by. Best regards too. ☺️☺️ God bless. ☺️
