I believe that as long as one is doing something they are passionate about then it's time well spent. Reading, writing, hiking, gardening...It doesn't matter as long as one enjoys it passionately.

Then again we are limited by some external forces as well. For instance, I always had a desire to be a marksman. But I live somewhere that will not let me near guns.

Well, as a shooter myself, I understand the attraction. I'd be a little list without firearms in my life. I've not heard of Demolition Ranch, but I tend not to watch made for TV/YouTube shooting things much. I might go have a look and see what it's about.
