I think what I've learned out of this lifetime is you should be proud of where you come from.

- Kid Rock -

It's the weekend, that glorious day called Saturday, and I reckon that's pretty damned good and an excellent reason to celebrate just a little bit. Now I'm here at the weekend I can look back and consider what I achieved leading up to it and what I have ahead of me; I'll be making the most of it.

As far as working weeks go last one was not too bad, a mixed bag of good, bad and indifferent however I mostly managed to move the bad to good and the indifferent to something that made a difference so I'm going to call it a win. Outside of work, life moved on as it always does, inexorably, and I got a lot achieved.

I spent time chatting with some people on WhatsApp who I've not chatted with for a while, one of them is a girl I met on Hive right back in 2017 who has similar interests to me and is an all-round legit character. The other is a local person who has just purchased a new house which is exiting and I'm looking forward to seeing it in person. Those chats spanned a few days each and brought some enjoyment and laughs. There was a more serious side to it though, the week I mean.

I had the need to change some subscriptions from one account owner (not me) to another (me) and make no mistake about it...it sounds easy, wasn't so fucken easy.

Being on hold on the phone for longer than one second isn't my thing, I fucken hate it, so that wasn't a good start. Dealing with phone/call centre operators who don't speak reasonable English also drives me nuts so strike fucken two...and then finding out the whole thing wasn't done properly is the trifecta. I'm not impatient (mostly) but that perfect storm of scenarios pushed me to the brink of...of...the brink of going fucken bananas. I managed to remain unbananas though as in these situations it rarely works well. I was frustrated though, on two occasions. Thankfully I got it all sorted.

I ate dinner out twice during the week, one was a date with my girl who wore the lowest top I think I can remember her wearing so all I can recall about that meal is boobs. Ok, not really. (Umm, yeah really.) The second was another date with my girl but this time, fucking fuckety fuckballs, not as much cleavage was displayed but I still looked anyway.

I also made dinner a couple times trying out, for the first time, a thing I've been thinking about for a while; it's basically a pizza but made using a round (low carb) tortilla thing and made into a pocket/pouch thing. It's way less in carbohydrates than pizza base which is something that's important to me, super easy to make and eat, and was delicious. The other was a killer Greek salad and chicken schnitzel meal which - I'm being modest here - was fucken legit.

I did some other stuff I don't want to say here and then, after the drudgery of the working week concluded it's now...Saturday.

I've got some stuff to do on the weekend but it's going to be hot - 40°C hot to be precise - which is shit but life has to go on. It'll be that hot for several days now and that's also shit but I'll not die hopefully; if I do manage to die you can send your condolence messages to my brother @tarazkp, and if you have any good-riddance-glad-you're-dead messages he'll accept them too.

Anyway, that was just a not soWEEKEND EXPERIENCES community a little while ago and I thought it was a cool way for people to share a few tracks and a chance for them to talk about their weekend ahead. little introduction to my #saturdayselections post for this week in which I want to share three tracks I've listened to over the week at one point or the other. This tag popped up in my

So, below are tracks I've listened to this week, two are really great and one I like for the track itself and because the music video is cool. That's the Kid Rock one in which he pays homage to Podunk, slang for a town or place that has no significance, is isolated and has no relevance (and is often brim full of rednecks). There's girls in bikinis holding guns, rednecks and stuff like that and it's funny. Anyway, watch and listen if you like, or not, it makes no difference to me. You also are under no obligation to like any of these tracks because whether you do or not won't make any difference to me because I have my own opinions.

3 Doors Down 🔸 Kane Brown 🔸 Kid Rock

So what's up for your weekend? If you want to tell me the comments below is where you'll do that and if you want to do a #saturdayselections post about the music you've been listening to you can do that as well, or not. Happy weekend to y'all...even if you live in Podunk.

Saturday is well under way and I have only just gotten home from grocery shopping. At least that's one chore ticked off the list. I rode into town with my brother, who lives next door, and that always involves extra stops at the lumber yard, hardware store, or auto parts store. Three hours later and Saturday noon is already here. Good song choices!

Yeah, I get it, I rarely go past a hardware store without going in, the same with Allingtons, (Outback/Country outfitters). I don't always buy something but I like browsing. So a trip to the supermarket with me often means a detour and a knew tool or pair of boots, some Wrangler shit or something like that. I know, so sad. Lol.

I hope you manage to find a break somewhere to relax a little, maybe break out some tunes.

So sad...cue the violin music lol. I just bought a long sleeved Wrangler Tshirt yesterday!

Relaxing right now,actually... watching the Supercross qualifying for races tonight.

I love me a gal in Wrangler, Ariat and so on, boots too. Country girls are the best, and if they like supercross...fucken hell, that's like the pinnacle of legitness.

Ok, not just supercross but stuff like that. I think you get what I'm getting at. I guess I like people who can do it all, not be fenced into some "ideal" that meets social standards. Life is too short not to colour (color) outside the lines.

Well, I mean..who doesn't like supercross???😂 I do get what you mean, life is too short.

And the clothes?....like slipping into a warm hug!!

Hugs are nice, free too.

Yep! One of the best things on Earth

Just sat here and enjoyed your songs with my limp wrists wife. Yeah, she will be hearing about that for awhile.

Anyways your picks were right down our hallway (about 3 doors down) that hallway. One of our faves. Kel likes Kane, me ehhh his music is ok.

Pizza 🍕 Pockets may now be on the short list for this saturdays feastivities..?

Po Dunk

Is the shizzit... Lovin' us some Kid with a Twang Thang.

Cheers mate, good tracks all. Of. KurSe, some won't see the video/song by Kid Rock that way but that's ok, each to their own.

Get dem wrists on that gal of yours strengthened up, racking a handgun effectively is a required skill.

"Shut up if you ain't" Kid Rock needs to take his own advice. Fuckin city slicker rich kid. Sorry about the rant, but that dude irks the hell out of me.

If you could send some of that heat this way it'd be much appreciated, it's finally warming up a bit here but our high is only 8C for today. Been in a bit of a funk all week, going to see if I can't break it this weekend by getting out with the Nikon and doing some shooting.

Yeah, I read that he's from the city, a few of his quotes allude to it. Isn't it interesting the way artists portray themselves to sell product; they all do it. Look at Michael Jackson. A known child-fondler/pedo and people still follow him. A good thing that wierd. fucker died for sure.

I know how you feel, not exactly but similar, as I get that way sometimes. This heat depressed me as one needs to stay in the AC and for a dude who likes the outdoors that's like ball and chaining me. Hopefully you find an outlet to turn around the feeling and energise yourself.

Detroit, which to me is a far cry from po'dunk. It is interesting, although I have to wonder if there isn't a connection between the selling a product and them all doing it. Ha, I'd rather not look at him, him and his fans always unnerved me a bit.

I suspect you know better than you realize, although the weather is only part of it. A good friend went for a hike in the mountains out west last weekend and never came home, they recovered his body on Monday. Made it outside and edited some photos of my friend this weekend, so I'm counting that as finding an outlet. Hope you get a break from the heat so you can escape the AC, I know all about how frustrating that is :)

I've always found Kid Rock to be a bit of a fucktard but there's a couple songs I don't mind listening to. He's just marketing himself, as they all do I guess, playing a part I suppose.

I'm sorry to hear about your friends, those things can always feel quite sudden and confronting.

So what's up for your weekend?

Headed to the gym earlier to burn off some calories after all the feasting during Chinese New Year earlier this week! Hehe!

Guilty-ate-too-much gym visit huh? The best way to make up for over indulgence.

Hehehe yeah!

Hi @galenkp, my week has been one of the bad ones of the year, so, even a 40 degree temp sounds good to me. Actually, that temperature doesn't sound good at all, I can't stand the heat either. I haven't done anything this morning, just resting, and I'm still figuring out what to do. Maybe read something.... And write or take a walk... I don't know.

Have a good end of Saturday, and a Happy Sunday.

A bad week? Sorry to hear that's been the case and I hope you can manage to find something to do that reverses the bad and makes you come out of the weekend feeling like you had a good one.

Thank you very much Galen, I am in that task now, listening to some music and reading....

I wish you a great Sunday.

I am in my work week. The plans I have are nothing more than planning effective patrols that reduce crime rates as well as land traffic accidents. I hope you have a long time to live. I don't want to be sending words of condolences and saying that we miss you. on this earthly plane

Working the weekend huh? Bummer. Oh well, someone has to do it.

I'll live for a hundred years to come, unless the heat melts me.

I have a friend who tells me that he would like to be where the sun is strong, the reasons are obvious hahaha

That's cold.

I remember when the first album came out from Three Doors Down. I had a copy of it on CD and it held a permanent place in the ten disc changer in the trunk of my car because it was just so good from beginning to end. How did your BBQ go the other weekend? I kept wondering how it turned out, but I knew you might not end up posting about it. Do you like Whatsapp? I have been trying to get my family to move to something secure like Signal since some of us have Android phones and others have iPhones, but that's like pulling teeth!

I don't really like WhatsApp but use it for certain people. I use Threema a lot with others and prefer it; not as smooth but more secure. We don't have Signal here but I've used it elsewhere.

The BBQ was really good, not something I'll post about but it went well and a good time was had by all.

Thanks for the info. That is good to know about the secure messaging apps. I haven't heard of Threema, so I am not sure it is available here.

It should be, krazzytrukker in Florida uses it to communicate with me.

Oh, okay. I guess I just haven't heard of it before.

It's a paid app so only those serious about comms security will get it I guess.

Seems reasonable. I definitely don't think I could get my family to buy into that as they are less concerned about security than I am.

I’m sitting in (and amongst) fresh, wet, laundry. :/ YAy! Awoke to the sound of the washer shrieking… with the (next) mound of linen politely waiting its turn.

So every chair and couch is doing its bit to help air dry.

Oh, deep cleaned the fridge, freezer, now listening to the sounds around me - birds chirping, cars honking, a helicopter in the distance and the humming of the Inverter…

Laundry, fridge cleaning, cars, helicopters...not so good (although I love helicopters) but the birds chirping makes me feel like you're finding a moment of peace amongst the chaos housework.

Busted… A fair trade, right?

The weather is now very good and sunny in Istanbul despite January, but it will snow the next week. Thus, I can't miss drinking 🍺 with friends this Saturday.

It sounds like you're in for an enjoyable Saturday. ✅

I had a good rest this weekend, and enjoyed my day. Also, I was able to write something and able to publish. All in all, it was a good weekend.

Good weekends are better than bad ones so well done on a good day.

Indeed! I’m glad I had a good weekend this week. I hope you too. Have a great day!

Pizza.... pictured it in my mind and I said how delicious that was! I liked the idea and the other meals too. I'm still thinking about pizza....

From the selection I choose the first one I liked the lyrics and the meaning!

40 degrees doesn't sound good at all, if I could I would send you something cool, it's 13 degrees here. No condolences because you'll be fine, I'm sure you will.

You still have Sunday, enjoy it! My plans are a flea market which I've never been to before and a museum which I haven't been to for two years. Today housework, shopping and stuff like that hahaha.

Hope you enjoy the warm weather. We are finally getting some warmer temps here. But is seems it is going to rain the entire time the temps are up some. Oh well, its this or move to warmer climates.

Podunk reminds me of some of the towns around here, true life shit. 3Doors Down, now that group got me through a deployment or two, along with some other tunage,

PIZZA!

That happened in many ways and through processes and attitudes learned over many years, the concepts of which are impossible to explain and impart in a short message.
