Weekend Engagement topics: Week 170

in Weekend Experienceslast year

I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore and diverting myself in, now and then, finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.

great, I'm joining this weekend. By the way @galenkp in the first topic, do you mean items like objects? or can it be for example: sport?

The topic is about how you go about living your best life. What things you do to ensure a better version of life.

perfect 👍

The topics are quite good and I think they are going to give a lot to cut through. I wonder where did you get that pea, because the quality is really amazing. hahaha.

Morning Galenkp!

I try to make the topics good, but quite good is ok too. Have a great weekend.

Oh, my English... I meant super topics! 😁

Lol, I know, I was just teasing you. 😇

GRRRRRRRR 🐸 (this frog bites and grunts)

Haha!

Sometimes it's easy to misinterpret English translated from other languages as it rarely translates perfectly well, I try to make allowences though.

Greetings to everyone around here at the beginning of the weekend. Here is my participation:

https://peakd.com/hive-168869/@carminasalazarte/weekend-engagement-3-basic-things-in-my-life

Cheers!

Hi, I'm so new here so it's very hard for me to keep up, English is not my first language, I have to translate everything. Everything you bring up in your (article) I have strong opinions about. I won't be in the competition, but I support everyone of course.
I like the bridge!

Thanks for supporting those who join in, I'm sure they'll appreciate it. All the best for the weekend.

Some of the friends I have made on Hive who speak English as a second language, tell me the more time they spend reading, writing and speaking to others the better they get at understanding English.

You will be great, good luck on your Hive journey, you will make friends, have fun and find a place to just be you. 😎

I understand English very well! but Jaag can't read and write in English, so he has to translate.
Thanks so much!

what a nice challenge @galenkp !!!

A few weeks ago I've been encouraged to join the community and I hope to make my first post this weekend.

Congratulations for promoting user participation in the blockchain!

Big hug

I see you've been around on Hive since 2018 so you're not new, but welcome to my post-feed and the Weekend Experiences community.

This post you responded to is a weekly thing I do and post in the Weekend Experiences community so if you want to get involved feel free to follow the guidelines set out.

The community has a set of rules and guidelines also, you can find them here: https://peakd.com/hive-168869/@galenkp/the-weekend-community-a-posting-guide

The only time you need to use the #weekend-engagement tag is as part of this weekly topic initiative over the weekend. You can post any day in the Weekend Experiences community though, as long as the content is strongly weekend-experience related. Please read the posting guide though.

Thanks for your comment.

no brainer its a csi for me!!!!! mt failed career choice!

I included that one as I thought quite a few might be interested in it. Was it something you actually wanted to do?

Potentially, yeah, maybe - I studied science in my first year! I think it would be very different in South Africa Though...

It's a fascinating job, I have a friend who did it for a while, a smart bastard...but boring as batshit. (He's the first to admit it.) He does blood spatter analysis at crime scenes, something I didn't think was all that interesting until I served on a murder jury and realised the science. I can understand why people get into it, their fascination.

Very cool. Your boring friend has an amazing job! I'm a nut for a good mystery. And I like I love crime mysteries! So would have been great. Think if I had more guidance career wise I might have gone full blown. I have a friend who is now a detective, living the dream! But each to its own. If I'm very honest, I am probably captivated by the galmour of it all.. watching Horatio Caine work on CSI and reading too many crime novels! Now I get my kicks from books.

I have a mate who was a detective, he got out, did his head in to be honest and it took too much of him, you know? He did it for quite a few years though, in one of the most difficult segments of crime relating to children. I have another mate still in and still on that taskforce also, not a detective though. He hunts pedo's though, same as the other mate. Not something I'd be able to impartially I think, most wouldn't make it back to the police station one piece.

Topic 4 is so money. That would be a really tough one for sure. I am hoping to just enjoy a little downtime this weekend. I know tomorrow we will be cleaning the house and I will likely have to mow the lawn, but if the weather is nice I might get to grill out, so that makes it all okay!

Grilling is a great way to balance out chores, I hope you can make that happen.

The topics...Yeah, if I was writing one number four is the one I'd do...so many possibilities! I'm hoping a few people tackle that one.

I try to grill at least once per week. Sometimes more if the weather is cooperating. It sounds like we are finally going to get some relief from the heat this weekend. Might even get to sit out on the patio with the fire pit!

I try and do the same, although in winter I get a little lazy less positively motivated. Fire pits! Best invention ever...after the mini skirt and push up bra of course.

Enjoy.

I still grill in Winter, though where I am from it gets a bit more difficult. I have to do it in the driveway because my patio has a foot or more of snow on it!

Lol, yeah as I was typing my winter comment in was thinking how lame it's going to sound considering it doesn't snow in my part of Australia.

It's okay, I get it. Winter is an interesting time here too. It's more of a mood than a season sometimes.

Bozz, that level of commitment makes me stand back and stare on in sheer unadulterated admiration!

It reminds me of those people who carried on playing the fiddle as the titanic was going down It's been a while mate, hope you and yours are well 😎

I was going to dig out a photo from a couple years ago of my grill sitting in the driveway with everything covered in snow and ice, but I couldn't find it.

You forgot yoga pants and leggings.

Oh man, speaking of which, today there was this lady with a set of skin coloured ones on, super tight ones, I mean tight and...well yeah, they come before fire pits also. 😉

Sometimes you have to do a double take based on the color!

I wonder if you would feel differently if it was the mini bra and the push up skirt...

Little opportunity to use the fire pit here this summer. I am sure as we hand over the season baton, you and your hemisphere will make far more use of the warmer seasons.😎🌞

I wonder if you would feel differently if it was the mini bra and the push up skirt...

Either way the end up tossed on the floor somewhere.

Yea, it's warming up. This coming week is going to be just under 30C all week, a big jump from the 14-15C we've been having. Good mini skirt and crop top weather.

Good mini skirt and crop top weather.

Yeah you should pull those out of your wardrobe... Live a little 😂

Amazing the psychological effect the temperature has on us. I know I said it before but I really don't ever consider Oz to ever be 14C. Crazy, really because my Nana spent about 9 months there and I remember her saying in her letters (yup youngins, letters were a real thing, not just for movies) that in the winter it felt like British weather.

This week's topics are very inspiring, I like many of them although I've wanted to be a detective since I was a child hahaha it's a fascination I think since I was born.... We'll see if I choose that one or two others that caught my attention.

You are a genius! So much creativity! Thank you!😀

I'll wait patiently to see which you choose, I'm sure you'll bring your best no matter which it is.

You are a genius!

Lol...more of a nutbag, but I appreciate the sentiment.

Always doing your best, always ....

Music in the background and to write, my fingers type without thinking haha

Geniuses are crazy for most of the society... so it's cool.

Great topics to blend into a weekend experience content offered, have a wonderful Friday!

@tipu curate

Hi Joan, thanks for dropping in and the curation, I hope you have a great weekend.

Few more eyeballs, tip for the piggy bank 🐖, always a pleasure!

It’s always appreciated and never goes unnoticed.

Great topics for this weekend bro @galenkp There are sure to be many interesting posts.

The topic 4 can open up many options for the best-kept secrets in the world.

I saw your entry, and a good one it was too! Nice work.

Wowee....simply "out of the box" creativity...the topics are challenging too.... looking forward to read the entry this weekend going to be good one while I am in flu....atleast found something that keeps me busy while I am on bed

Sorry to hear you're unwell and hopefully you get better soon. It's not a great way to spend a weekend, but rest up and get yourself better.

It is exertion went for some trekking and non stop outing....

Apart from nice topics you come up with, i also love how you interact with members of the community. You're doing great @galenkp. I better get to work.

I'm glad you liked the topics, and than you for your kind words. All the best with work and for the weekend ahead.

Good morning, Galen, excellent the topics, and they all lead us to How to live this life, I love them all, already writing the profile of my topic...👁

Happy weekend engagement

Hopefully you enjoy the process, I'll look out for it. Have a good weekend.

I will do it Galen, thank you very much for your good wishes

Ah, here it comes.

I should have gone with topic 3 but i dont want to recall some worst memories. Now i will be choosing a profession i always wanted to. Its ok if i cant be so in real life, i can be that personality for a while in my blog. It will be interesting.
Regards.

Choose the topic you feel happy with, there's not obligation to do any particular one, especially if it makes you uncomfortable.

And this is why i really feel free to participate in your weekly contests. Happy weekend.

Thank you for this opportunity once again, interesting topics to choose from

Here's my entry @galenkp

https://peakd.com/hive-168869/@jjmusa2004/if-i-had-access-to

Ok, thanks.

This are great topic, and it seems as is the first topic was taken out of my today.
I have made an entry on this thankfully.
Thanks for giving the topics,👏👏

No worries.

I must say,Galen, it was difficult choosing which to write on because that are all exciting topics, but I will go with topic 1. Excited to share what the elements of "living my best life" are.

That sounds like a good plan. all the best with it.

Nice, I already have an idea of what I want to write

Sound good.

Those are excellent topics to reflect on our life and review what we are doing with it.

Each week I try to put together topics that are relatable, interesting, fun, challenging and that allow people to be creative; I’m glad to hear you like this weeks topics.

one of the interesting topics in this week's contest is unconditional love, I will write an entry about this special theme, see you in my post 😊😊

Good plan, and I hope you have a good weekend.

Hello dear friend @galenkp, another challenging weekend for us, here I present what I would do with the key that would open the doors to so many mysteries:

https://ecency.com/hive-168869/@nbarrios67/weekend-engagement-topics-170-a

Happy Weekend.

Excellent, I'd hoped someone would choose that topic. Have a good weekend.

Hi @galenkp. When I see the publication in Ecency or Peakd the first lines are in Spanish, but when I enter the blog everything is in English language. I don't like to violate any rule of the communities and for the second time this happens to me without finding a solution. I wrote and published in Ecency, in next opportunities I will do it in Peakd and I hope this will not happen again. Technically the blog is written in English and I don't want to cause you any inconvenience by not following the rules. Thanks for your attention and best regards.

Peakd is a better way to go I guess, as you know I have to mute anything in my communities that are not in English so it doesn't send the message that dual language (non-English only) is acceptable. I'll leave it this week, but from now on it will be muted.

Excellent evening,
have a great start to the weekend everyone.

Thank you, have a good weekend.

Thank you so much.

Thank you, I appreciate you being involved once again.

I will be posting my entry for this engagement topic later. Hopefully I can make it before the deadline.

Ah ok, well, there's still 85 minutes left before the deadline so plenty of time.

I'm happy, I already posted it. Hopefully you can find time to read it too. Thanks for your time.

You made it.

I have already read it and sent it to curangel also. I will vote on it in a bit.
