"Life flies when you're having fun."
I bet so.
But what if you're just feeling the moment?
I always hope to get a fleeting glimpse of peace and happiness to myself. So here I am, sitting on the fresh grass; its studs poking at my sides but I get used to it eventually. The smell of petrichor after the rain is one of my favorite things about the rainy season. I grabbed my pen and mini notebook and began scribbling, and scribbling, until I could no longer read between the lines.
Whilst sitting in the embrace of the cold wind, I find myself looking at a distance. The recreational park is a must visit for many, and I find myself occasionally observing people and how they spend their time here either with friends, lovers, or family. My uncle took us here so he could tour us around their go-to places in Tarlac, and being the enthusiastic and adventure-craving person that I am, I nodded without a second thought behind my brain.
My cousin brought their adorable golden retriever. His name was William. He has been with them for almost 3 years now, and I've seen from my own eyes how much they adore him. It was a good thing they brought him so he could play outside the walls of the compound. He looked really happy to see other people and dogs too.
This is me with my favorite uncle. He's really cool and likes to travel a lot. If it isn't blatant enough, we love to eat. Before we arrived, they literally carried 6 bags of goods from the grocery store β foods that were enough to feed almost 10 people. Well, they did invite 2 people later on, but we didn't do much aside from minimal talking and updates on our current lives till 10 came around. I didn't even realize how much time had already passed, but then I realized we were the only ones left there and a storm had started brewing, so we had to packup and head home.
This experience made me do nothing and everything all at once. Nothing, because I didn't have to think too much unlike most of the time β and everything because I felt like I released a decade's worth of stress off of my shoulders. It really is a good thing to let yourself breathe for a while. So the next time you feel gloomy, just run towards a park, plug on some music, snack on a treat, and give yourself a moment that would speak thousands, yet won't weigh heavily on you.
I hope you had a great day today! Always remember to take care of yourself. I'll see you in the next one :)
Yours truly,
E
