Beautiful life, amazing Hivers, and all engagers and members of The Weekend community :)
I believe celebrations are common to every one of us and we tend to enjoy them most especially when we are with the people who matter most to us.
One of my favorite celebrations of the year that I enjoy is Christmas. And as it nears, I cannot help but feel very excited!
The reason?
Because for us, Christmas spells F-U-N!
It has been our tradition that the whole family would come together at our parent's home and we would spend the day and night over food and drinks, chitchat, teasing, laughter, games for the kids, and ahh, my favorite part, memory-rewinding (reminiscing mostly the funny events of the past). Re-living the funny days always brings giggles and mirth to most of us and we would be teary-eyed laughing.
With everyone living in different places and each having commitments, our family can only be at one place during Christmas. Preparation usually starts a week before. My siblings and I would discuss what we would be cooking, who would buy this and that, and all other things. And when the day comes, we would all be at our parent's place, each bringing whatever we could think of.
And at the following day, when we are up to it, we would go to the beach or to any resort somewhere warmer, thinking we can burn some calories away by swimming, but then we'd bring more food anyway and even grill some at the site, so calories are added instead of having them burnt, haha!
Unfortunately, we were not able to do the beach last year because of the border restrictions. And probably won't have the chance this year as restrictions are still up, but we have high hopes that things will eventually get better soon.
So yes, Christmas will always be a special occasion where we as a whole family reconnect better, bond, and laugh our hearts out all together.
Thank you so much @galenkp for your great initiative and this is my participation for the week :)
I also love Christmas and spending time with the family. And although here now, because of everything that has happened in the country, they are no longer what they used to be, it's still a special time to celebrate.
Things change but yes, we still can make it special even within our own homes :)

Christmas will always be fun with families coming together to merry. I hope this year's own would be interesting not minding the situation all over the world.
I think we can do what we are able to make it interesting and better and perhaps not worry so much about the things we cannot control.
